Hopefully Magic? :)
    #19373175 - 01/05/14 02:02 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

I live in Ga, found these guys yesterday. I love shrooms and they are without a doubt my favorite thing to do, but I do not know a lot about the actual process of growing and harvesting. I've done some research and I'm going to start growing soon, but in the mean time I was wondering if you guys could identify these mushrooms. I do not think they are magic mushrooms but I wanted to double check with you guys. Thanks!

The one with the white stem could be a small russula specimen.

The others I'd say Laccaria, they don't seem active anyway.

Yea, no magic there...but depending on where in GA you are, you might be able to find some cubes or some Panaeolus maybe...but if you're up my way, you'd be better off growing them right now, I think.

Don't seem active? I now know these are magic, but say they were. How would I know if they were active?

Yeah I'm looking for a good place to look. We've been having some heavy rain so now would be a good time to look. Don't really know if the odds of me finding anything is worth going out to look ya know? Plus I need to be more educated on which ones to look for first.

You have to Identify the mushroom. If your eating unidentified plants or mushrooms your going to have a bad time.

You have a Russula and something else. Neither of which are active species.

Find out what grows in your area then research the species so you can look in the appropriate habitats at the correct time of year :super:
