Single and sad.
    #19373067 - 01/05/14 01:39 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

On holiday break from college. Relationship just died.
What more is there to say?

I feel like I should take up a new hobby. Maybe I'll dust off that old guitar sitting in the corner.

Been thinking about doing the same but my voice is raspy and non-existent. Am I the only one who realizes how much of a nightmare cold weather is to musicians? Not only does it send your body into several forms of shock, the constant flux of inside to outside, but indoor heating isn't good on the head. There's all sorts of nasal and auditory nooks and crannies that get stuffed up when I'm in a heated place. Don't really have the science to explain, but I know the end result is: stare at the wall. Wait for summer or probation to end. Relocate to warmth.

(also, don't play the guitar because your relationship ended. Just play guitar. If you  pick it up with notions of, "oh I've been wronged lord! Time to crank out some blues!" the girl has won)

Yeah absolutely.  I can hardly get some words out sometimes when I am talking, forget about singing on key.  Hard to keep strings in tune too.

I feel you, my brother. I've been down with the blues myself, lately.

I know it doesn't mean much, but I feel for you.

Good vibes and much love.

Expect a confusing mix of good to terrible relationship advice on here, man.  If this relationship was a big deal to you, you'll probably have a lot of emotional energy for awhile that, in my opinion, should neither be suppressed, ignored, nor amplified.  It can be easy to sink into this wallowing, depressing space - and just as easy to ignore or even condemn your feelings.  There's no need to do either.  You can be as you are.

I concur wholeheartedly. Musicianship is such a wonderful thing to have in your life; now is a probably great time to move some of your emotional energy into playing the guitar. :nyan:

Best wishes...

I've been single for over a year now and still find myself picking up new hobbies just to occupy my time.

I still need more hobbies, maybe I can fill that 1-2 hours void everyday where i watch netflix and think about how lonely i am.

Drugs are a good hobby to combat thoughts of loneliness.

I'm going through the same thing right now. I have cried a few times today, shit hurts. The fact that we aren't doomed, there is still hope, and accepting it is the answer to our pain. A hobby is great. Dust that thing off and channel those emotions into something else.
