Driving High

Do you guys ever drive while high? I used to do it fairly often, not noticing any real affects. Last night though, I drove high for the first time in probably a year, and found it pretty challenging. I kept worrying I was going to get pulled over, and I kept crossing the line into the next lane and I hit a curb and almost a stop sign. Never again will I drive high, I thought I was either going to wreck or get pulled over.

I have many times in the past and it never was a big deal to me, but I'm talking about taking a few hits out of a pipe, not doing a couple dabs and then hitting the road. The only downside I found was that I got increasingly paranoid of other drivers losing control and got more anxious than I usually would when semi trucks passed me.
I would say that it's the equivalent of drinking coffee or having a cigarette while driving. It's a distraction, and it'd probably be safer not to do it, but I reject the notion that driving stoned is as dangerous as driving drunk.

All the time on different things. Know yourself, your substance, and your dose and it's no different then driving after two beers.

That shit cray, icy roads would be an instant deal breaker for me driving while stoned, much less on lsd. Reaction time is more important in icy conditions.

driving while high is easy
last time i drove on acid wasnt long after gta five came out and i remember when i got in my car and i was looking out the windshield, i thought to myself "shit, this is exactly what it looks like in gta"
driving on L isnt that hard, specially on backroads..def a lil more difficult on highways

As long as your not ridiculously stoned, driving high shouldnt be too bad. Nothing at all like driving drunk. That beind said I still dont do it cause i'd be freaking out
But on LSD? wtf is wrong with you idiots? what if you started getting tunnel vision and you cant tell if the light 20ft ahead or 2 miles ahead? thats fucked

I learned to drive while I was high, cause back then I was always high. So I'm told by people who know me and have been passengers both when I was high and sober that I'm a better driver when I'm high. If I quit for a long time and get high again I don't drive until I'm used to the feeling of being high again. If that makes any sense.

Depends on what you're high on. I drive better if I smoke weed but if I do a dab I sometimes have to pull over and mellow out for a bit.
LSD I drive like a champ and have a great reaction time but mushrooms I have no depth perception.
Opiates feels fucking dangerous so I dont chance it.

I used to smoke fat blunts and drive. Never really had a problem with it, i always had a manual transmission so i think that always helped me pay more attention. Plus my head lights flipped up and it was way easy to tell where your cars at. I also survived driving in a ice storm on the highway driving a MR2, the car would drive diagonal then fishtail the otherway diagonally and i rode it out like that all while high. After all that sliding my leg was shaking when i stopped at a light! Driving on MDA scared me, the road was curving but hell i made it!

I tend to drive a bit under the speed limit, and every car is obviously a cop car and they know I am driving under the influence of something and they are gonna pull me over and put me in jail and...
Yeah I don't do that anymore, it did not agree with me at all :p

I drive high probably more than I do sober honestly. That sounds pretty bad lol. I'm good at driving high, like many others. It isn't hard if you have a tolerance and are a good driver in the first place. Only times I get bugged out while driving high is if I am on my way home with an ounce that I just picked up... even tho it is always in a glass mason jar. I still just get real anxious and can't wait to get onto the back roads and to my house. Also when I'm burn running and it's night and there's a vehicle behind me... I always stop smoking until I see they are not a cop or until they turn off the road or I do.

When I had a car, I'd drive high as fuck. Put down 1/4g of oil and go on a road trip. Fuck yeah.
I don't drive while spun unless I have to, but that's mostly cause of paranoia.

I'm a super safe driver high, a little less so sober, but I would never think of driving drunk or tripping

driving while tripping is an amazing experience that dazzles the senses, tests your mind, and ultimate shows you that you are capable of anything.

If you smoke regularly medicinal grade bud then you should be pretty good at driving high. I'm a fucking pro! Although I have had times where I've taking a few days break, smoked some insane wax and had to drive far as fuck.. felt like eternity on the road. Also paranoid I would get a dui..

The first day of having my drivers licence, i drove to my friends house and smoked a blunt of dank. I ended up driving home stoned as fuck. I've been doing it ever sense. With no problems. I've even driven while tripping, and yes... drunk. Oh well, thats life. I don't recommend it, but some people can do it just fine.

SWIM drove while high every day for 6 years and never had any problems or even a speeding or parking ticket. Marijuana DUI laws are bullshit.

SWIM did that drunk, too.

SWIM didn't drink and drive every day for 6 years, SWIM's social calendar was not that exciting.

Social calendar? More like corporate job.
Exciting? More like monotonous torture.

I have never been good at it. I always seem to forget to use the clutch while stoned.

I drive a clutch too. I find driving with a clutch more fun than an automatic. Even when baked out of my mind, and wearing snowboard boots, I am able to drive fine. I guess you just gotta have a high tolerance as well as be a good driver sober to pull off driving a clutch baked.

haha ya, I also like manual transmission more. I specifically only but stick shift cars, except for my current volvo because I got it for a great deal. But every day driving it I just feel so bored.

Manual transmission is no harder to drive while high on weed than an automatic, if anything it keeps you focused on the task at hand. I hate stick shift though the gridlock around here makes it really annoying.

I've never driven while high, but in high school I knew a bunch of people who loved to. Luckily nothing bad ever happened.

I always tought i'd never do it until i did it I drived very stoned on MJ and drunk, but I don't like it and especially if drunk the next day I think "wtf did you do last night?". But like 2+ hrs after a joint it's no problem, or 3-4 beers.
But always depends of the conditions.. In a small vilage without much traffic no problem..
I drived once on acid the whole day, but it was in a very very small vilage with no traffic at all at a "hidden" place. Best trip of my life so far. But wouldn't even consider it in a bigger town.
The worst i did was driving after valium and alcohol a couple of times. I had NO memories of coming home and i know what alcohol and valium does to me.. Stupid I'll never do that again.
But after a comedown time for weed or some beers i don't see any problem.

I now see it as stupid and dangerous, but there was a time when I'd have to drive 10 hours to another state on a regular basis and I'd bring a bunch of cassette tapes and roll about 10 joints, smoking the entire time. Worst experience was crossing state lines and going through an immigration checkpoint. Was waved right through, but still that shit sucked. I see it as irresponsible now.
