mistaken green for blue?

I have a jar that wasn't prepared right whatsoever and is in wrong jars. it has a mix of br and brf and verm l. It is almost 96% cultivated and I noticed a tiny spec of odd coloring at the top already cultivated area. I thought it was green mold but now after a few days and it has progressed and actually seems to be overtaken by white could this just be bluing from the water on the inside of the jar or is it really green contam? Tried to get a pic but its so small and I have diamond jars there is no real seeing it in a pic sorry. any advice? Would anything help if it was or is it a lost jar?

That's the mold mycelium expanding past the mold that's sporulated.

here is a pic but like I said prob can't tell and if the uncolonized region starts to colonize fluffy and in bunches I'm guessing that's mold mycelium?

Well the only reason I thought it might be bruising is because its taken way over the time it should of and didn't know if it was past time to pin and what not so that region got bruised from the water in the jar. prob just going to scrap this $100 experiment and start new with lc to wbs to bulk to monotub. Is that a better way to go?

I would not start with LC if your having problems with cakes. LC is very tricky and hard to tell if its no good. This costs time and resources. If you really want to step up your game with cultures and grains use agar. Its more noob friendly, you can see if you mess up, and you can usually clean up any mistakes. Agar FTW Once you have your sterile tek down with agar, you can try LC again and always use clean agar wedges to inoculate your LC.

Actually you right I meant agar that's what I have been looking into. seems legit and relatively blog friendly. the only reason I had prob with cakes is the partner I had made some drastic decisions without consulting and packed jars to tight and didn't prep or even grind up rice correctly....but what I don't get with the agar what is after pced is it a more solid or liquid? And if its a solid do you rehydrate it with you sterile syringe stir it up and suck it up for transfer to wbs?

Agar solidifies at room temps, kinda like a stiff jello. Once you are sure you have a clean culture, you then can cut a wedge of it out of the dish and drop that wedge into a grain jar. It will grow out from there.
Then shake
