I decided I wanted to try this out again. I had some syringes from 2009 sitting in the closet. I also believed they were dead so I ordered some more from a shroomery sponsor.
Here's the story.
So I made some pftek cakes as well as some jars of LC. I inoculated the stuff with the 2009 syringes and while I had them in the incubator, my new syringes arrived.
I made some more pftek jars and LC. After inoculation I took the 2009 stuff and set it aside so the new stuff would have a chance. I didn't believe the 2009 spores were going to go anywhere. I really expected to see bacterial contams and the mean green.
Well, low and behold, the 2009 LC took off, and a few of the jars did as well. The jars are slow, but that should be expected with such old spores.
The 2013 spores I got, well so far at least 60% have contaminated with greeny, and the LC jars(3) exploded with growth then turned cloudy.
So none of my 2009 stuff has contaminated, at all. That includes using a syringe of the 2009 LC I made, to knock up a small pftek test jar. The LC is all nice and clear, and the jars that have growth show no signs of contamination.
I'm really good, if I says so myself, of at least spotting contams while very very early.
Do you guys see a way that none of my 2009 stuff is contaminated, yet my 2013 stuff is doing horrible simply by chance? The only conclusion I can come to is my new syringes are not trustworthy.
I ordered some more from another vendor... who I believe was the maker of the 2009 stuff. It's been so long I have no idea where I got them.

Spore syringes are made from prints. Prints are almost never clean. You will be hard pressed to find a vendor who's syringe is gonna be 100% everytime and many of them probably never get it right. Use a shroomery sponsor for your best bet

Yes you could absolutely expect random contamination. Even from the most reputable vendors. Most commonly bacterial.
