Found this in a field adjacent to a goat pasture in dead/old guinea grass and moist soil Location found: Kapaa, Kauai.
* Habitat: decaying guinea grass and soil * Characteristics of the gills: small, very clustered together, light white color. * Characteristics of the stem: Inch, maybe inch and a quarter? not very thick, creamy whitish color near the top, lower area is a darker creamy white, almost tan. Slight curvature to it * Characteristics of the cap: Creamy almost light tan/white color, kind of spherical, but with a slight nipple at the top. small amount of light orange flecks on the cap, but I don't know if that is the cap itself or something else on it. * Spore print color (very important!) Couldn't find any tin foil at my house * Color that the mushroom bruises: golden, yellowish in color where bruised. * Scent of the mushroom: Mushroomy? I know that's not helpful, smells like the ones you'd get in a store. * Anything else you might find important: Only one I found, was all by itself no cluster or anything, just a lone mushroom.
Sorry if I'm not posting correctly, I am new and I tried to remember the guidelines as well as I could.

It looks like a Bolbitius sp., try compare to B. titubans.
You could try printing it on any white surface.

If you are stuck for tinfoil use glass(or something else transparent), or half black/half white paper.

Hmm. Ok. Do B. titubans grow in hawaii? Did some googling and can't find anything. Looks almost identical to some pictures I found of Golden Teachers, but then you're the expert, not me. Just checked the cap, its been two hours and I've put it on some paper; no spore print at all. Should I wait overnight?
PS: I'm guessing the spore prints will be the best way to confirm the identity, yes?

Spore print narrows down the genera, yes, but those you have are 100% not psychoactive mushrooms, and spore print is not needed if you're just wondering that.

It is a widespread species. It doesn't really resemble Psilocybe cubensis apart from it being a gilled mushroom. Spore print is rusty brown, and you should let it sit for a good number of hours. I never printed it myself, but being a a rather small and flimsy mushroom it might probably dry out quickly and thus make it hard to obtain a substantial print.

I'm not sure its yellow enough for Bolbitius titubans, maybe its Conocybe, are the cheilocystidia lecythiform? Also, might be worth making sure its not dark spored like a Psathyrella...
