Im afraid we are too late to invest man. With the enconomy in such a masked hole, ie., $18,000,000,000,000 in debt, I just fear its either going to tank again soon or get bought out my China (they own alot of our debt).
If you are strictly looking for penny stocks, ignore the rest I posted below, and Goodluck man!
Namaste
BUT! none the less, not a penny stock but look into: ticker CERN (newish pharm) GOLD (Recourses, estimated to go up too $100 in a year) WFM (whole foods market, rising like crazy) Anything 3D Printing related Anything Nano Technology related
Let me know your opinion, please!

Whole Foods has traded above $20/share for the last 3.25 years, and above $40 for the last 2 years.
EDIT: Oh, you mentioned it wasn't a penny stock in your post, nevermind...

ha no stress! I guess the only reason I mentioned it was because I've been invested in it for a while and has split rapidly suddenly. Crazy for a grocery to advance so quickly financially. Yet then again when you own the insurance company you are offering your employees.....

Your on the right track my friend, I like whole foods and believe it will Be a good investment I just wish I could have gotten in sooner. 3D Printing will have a big move this year and in currently doing my DD on sigma labs (SGLB) trading at .1525 and I'm hopping it will jump on the camtek track (CAMT) 4.45. I like the idea of a $500 investment into SGLB turning into a quick 14,590. I'm hopping SGLB will do that for me this year

Unfortunately there's really no such thing as a "good" penny stock. At least not that anyone can tell you. 99% of the time the company will fail...you hear success stories and you will probably watch a penny stock or two take off and make it big but this is NOT an investing strategy. Most pennies are OTC where reporting is not as stringent and they can make things look great or paint a rosy picture about the future or say they have this awesome new technology that will change the world. They sucker you in and a fair amount of these companies are either pump-and-dumps or subject to pumpers marketing strategies.
Pennies are for day trading (actually minute-trading IMO), and even then you run a high risk of getting burned if you don't know what you're doing. This is a sector of securities where prices will move hundreds of a percent on smoke and mirrors rumor. Best bet is find some stock boards or chat rooms that specialize in pennies...just watch them, see the hype, watch the price rise, then watch the sell-off. There's no rhyme or reason to pennies.
