I use consolidated pan stip mycelium in a quart jar as a night light. Very simple to cultivate and relatively cheap.

Bad picture of a jar of Pan stip. They are brighter than they appear.
If you like bioluminescents you might want to check out Omphalotus nidiformis too. They are a bit easier to fruit.

The mycelium glows brighter on the Pan stip, the fruits on the O. nidi.

Jeff, you just made me reply to the free wedge thread. Who in the hell doesn't want a mycelium nightlight?

I have the O. nidi fruiting still. The fruit bodies are odd at lower temps though. They tend to curl up and have very little cap. If I get ambitious tonight I may try another pic.
I do miss the mycelium on my night stand from the Pan. stip though. So friggin cool to open your eyes in the middle of the night and see them glowing away.

What camera are you using Jeff? Iso is clearly too high causing the gritty pixels, you could lay the camera down and use a tripod and do a 5+ second exposure on iso 100?

It is a cannon T1i. Long exposure >2 minutes. 3200 ISO. It was a rushed pic. I have never been able to capture the glow at 100. I can get clearer pics at 1600 but it takes a longer exposure. Just learning this f*cking camera thing.
Edit: Shitty pic, I know.
