So people who are doing the pftek with brf cakes into their perlite sgfc dunk and roll.
Should I do the dunking part before I spawn to my bulk sub in my monotub ? Or this only applies to cakes that wont be mixed with bulk

some people do... i dont dunk cakes or grains before spawning to bulk.... i figure my spawn is sterile and my bulk sub is pasteurized so why introduce more mold spores from unsterile water that was used to dunk...<--- people are gonna hate on me for saying that but im just telling you what i do.. also some people say dunking decreased colonization times but no studies have been done to prove that.

no need to dunk, i've done it but there is no real need to (it makes it a mess to crumble lol) and i never noticed any decrease in colonizing times with dunked cakes, just grains

If i understand right, u r gonna break your cakes in pasteurized substrate in monotub?
Good question, i havent seen any specific answers to that yet. Dunking isnt necessary imo, u can skip it.
Yet seeing the results of dunking grain before spawning, i could speculate that dunking your cake could fasten your colonization process and with that you would have better chances against contamination ofc. But i dont think anyone made experiments on that yet. Its just my speculation.

i did, no diff in colonizing times wutsoever, it made the cakes a mess to cheese grate though, one thing to consider is that they are 2/3's verm and done under field capacity so sometimes if you use enough cakes it will take away from your proper field capacity, mist heavy at full colonization

Sure they have
More than once too. Frank's is just the most popular. I'll admit there hasn't been enough controlled experiments done though.

Did you use monoculture? Did you break cakes after dunking?

yes it was an iso test cake and yes i cheese grated it, did four cakes 2 dunked 2 not, they both finished at the same time and produced similar but the dunked ones were much harder to run through the grater
