Why Is Trash So Expensive?
    #19367826 - 01/04/14 12:03 PM (10 years, 27 days ago)

Why is garbage so expensive to get rid of?  I mean, sure, nobody wants it.  Why can't you just throw it somewhere?  I mean, sure, you could get in trouble, but why shouldn't you be able to dispose of things that weren't yours to begin with for free?

Think of the fuel required to pickup and deliver all the trash to its destination. Think of where this destination is and the equipment, land, and manpower needed to make it. There are regulations is place for trash dumps so more money goes into making them compliant.

There is the people who work for the companies, they require payroll, insurance, etc

And don't forget the whole thing is a business which is intended to make money.

So basically, it's a monopoly, and a ripoff.  Just like oil.

Compost your food waste and people will at least take it away for free if not pay for it...if you're so inclined it's possible to create so little waste at home that you have no need for garbage or sewer. :pipesmoke:

Don't judge this book by its cover; it contains a wealth of information on composting both food scraps and your own shit.

I'm creating a plan now to live in my own home and be off the grid for both sewer and garbage within 3 years.

A year or so ago they cut back our service on garbage collection, only pick up every other week now, and instead gave us a giant compost bin they collect weekly, as well as recycling.  I just stopped making so much trash, I had to.  My biggest issue is with boxes, things I ordered online, they just have a way of piling up in my basement until I pay somebody $100 every year or so to make them go away.

I have a recycling center about three blocks from my house and can bring stuff there on my bike.  The rest I find a place for and I have a compost bin.  I haven't paid for regular pick up service in about 15 years.

Right on, about three blocks away from my house there's the Hawthorne Fred Meyer and outside on the other end of the parking lot there's some sort of huge contraption that looks like a bunch of washing machines I often see people pumping junk into.  In my mind it's a self service recycling center that gives you a receipt for 5c deposits, but I haven't taken a close look at it.  The curb side pickup of trash, recycling, and compost is included in my rent.

The Jews have been controlling the trash business for years now.  Through their zionist organizations and fronts they've cornered the market and are able to charge outrageous prices.  I know this is hard to believe, but you guys can't be a sheep all your life.

My family in the EU talk about the packaging of products being the responsibility of the product provider and as a result there is less waste in packaging. The waste management field is huge and rather intriguing, there are a great deal of resources wasted on a pretty regular basis in any large city.

I'm pretty sure one problem with trash is that there's less and less space to put it.

GREAT POINT!

This thread is about the high costs of trash removal so the best solution is to launch it into space!

Cuz ya know, its super cheap to send things to space......

Jesus told me to go fill my 40 cubic yard dumpster and do it again and again.  His plan for me sucks.
