How do you bring back/decipher lessons/insight?

So with trips to be upcoming, I want to ask how do you guys "bring back" your lessons. Whether they are regarding your being, humanity, life, religion/spirituality or anything! Its pretty well established that you come to these astounding conclusions while tripping and soon after...well things get slippy. So any tips for remembering or applying these lessons/conclusions/revelations? And if you could supply a real-life example of this and/or a heart warming success tale that would be pretty cool too! I feel this will be very beneficial for myself and many others who suffer from not being able to apply these things
Oh and if there is some long thread elsewhere my profuse apologies, I only used the search engine once and checked the first page :/

You don't. Any insights that require conscious "integration" are likely only brought about my loss of rational/logical faculties, and the last thing you (presumably) want is to actively try and make yourself a less rational person.
They're not a ticket to secret wisdom; they can be useful, but not (I think) the way you're trying to use them.

This is one very good way. Although oftentimes the next day the writing may appear as absolute gibberish. We used to sometimes use one of those mini cassette recorders sometimes.
OP- what I would really suggest is insight meditation. If staying connected with insight is what you seek, it may be a very good method for you.

This happens a lot to me where I'll experience an insight and a few days later it doesn't have nearly the same meaning.

I like to keep a notebook handy during a trip just in case I think of something that needs be written down. I also like to write about the experience a day or two after it happens, even if I don't plan on sharing it with anybody.

I wrote down a bunch of stuff on acid one time and it made NO sense when I read it the next day.
But I think what really matters sticks around in your subconscious. It's not usually the crazy stuff you think about that ends up affecting how you act.

This is a very good question, and one worth exploring to no end for those with a genuine desire to integrate something truly meaningful into their lives from a psychedelic experience.
Beside the inherent insights, revelations, and epiphanies, a particularly affecting or profound trip might be divided into two parts: 1, the experience itself; and 2, the memory of that experience. Personally I've found the experience--like all powerful and potentially life-altering experiences--to be self-integrating. It adheres itself to your mind and your soul, though you may not be consciously aware of it -- or if you are, it can be more than a little confusing, like trying to assemble a puzzle with 5 different sets of pieces.
In terms of the memory of the experience, I've found the ones I can recall the best are the ones that have a distinct association with something tangible: something I wrote down, a piece of art I created at the time, a song, a trip out in nature, a walk in the rain, even certain films. It's impossible (personally) to recreate the same impact of a psychedelic experience I had 12 years ago just through memory, but if I pop on the specific song my ego dissolved to via my first experience combining 5-Meo-DMT with Salvia, it does conjure something ineffable and wonderful inside of me -- however subtle.

I agree 100% with this. Meditation can bring back feelings and knowledge from trips and also create new ones.

Use phone etc to voice record your ideas. You can play it back the next day to help trigger those thoughts. I found it beneficial as it was my voice, when re-playing it, that helped.
Then go into meditation contemplating the changes you need to make, so forth. Writing can become illegible, somehow for me, it was easier to convey in words.
