motion interpolation and super resolution. Which is de-judder or removing motion blur. if your tv is 60Hz it will immitate 120Hz, thus "faking" extra frames to make it seem double Frame rate.

If movies where shot at higher fps, the movie industry would have to replace all their projectors and they are too busy fucking us with our pants down to our ankles to try that, so you get shit for your 100 dollar a month cable bill.

Maybe if theaters had better projectors id be more inclined to see them there
I don't like the way movies shot with a high FPS look; It's more life like but I'm still not at all used to it. it looks weird.

Actually, they compress sports broadcasts less because there is more motion. This means that during times there isn't much motion, the picture is extra crisp.

I'm pretty sure they are filmed at 120 frames per second in full HD with some pretty expensive cameras. Being that one of Americas past times is getting together and watching the game the network that films it gets paid stupid amounts of money for advertisements and they also have some people paying for special subscriptions or what not. This allows them to buy state of the art filming equipment.

Usually because its bright, with bright colors so it looks better.
Brighter images are often perceived as better, hence why LED televisions have taken over the market despite a poorer image quality. The one "color" your TV cannot produce is black (the absence of light). Thus, TVs usually have difficulty creating shadows and darker scenes.
Football is lit up, so it looks better.
