Heater in the closet for incubating brf jars

Hey everyone so I have about 6 brf jars in my closet with a thermometer just because I have it and I figure why not.
Ambient temp in the closet ranges from about 66-71 degrees lately so I put a heater in it. Its one of those MySpace personal heater from Walmart about $15 dollars it's made for office cubicles and shit.
It brings the temp in the closer to a steady 80-81 degrees. From what I've been reading this is ok temp to be colonizing jars I've just been wondering if it is going to dry the cakes out I haven't found a definitive answer on here in two days of using spare time to search through old posts so I figured it was about time to ask for advice.

I think you will be just fine.
Just don't burn your house down with the space heater.
The temps of 80-81F are better IMHO.
As for the humidity I wouldn't worry too much just yet, now if the sub starts shrinking, looking dry, or contams are present due to shrinkage, or if it just stops growing, and it dries out where you can notice it then you can worry. For now do nothing. You can also loosely bag them with a plastic shopping bag if you are worried.

How will I know if they are looking dry? I mean there's no condensation on the inside of the glass but there wasn't to begin with really.

You will notice growth, then it will stall and the sides of the cake not only where the mycelium are but where the cake is will retract from the sides of the jar.
This is all highly unlikely. ( Almost never happens )
It is totally normal for the mycelium itself to retract from the jar a bit due to the consolidation of the substrate. It is a living organism at that point after all and has an affect on its surroundings.

Probably the only sign you'd notice in a BRF jar that's drying out is colonization slowing down or stopping.
