How soon do you think it'll be before the snow clears up enough for the planes to land?
I need to book a flight asap but I'm not sure when is best to go.

They are not already? I'm suprised. I'd say it is the wind as much as the snow if they are still holding flights, but I doubt they are at this point. It's so cold nothing sticks then it all blows around.

So I'm guessing the only thing I can do is book a flight and deal with the delays and turkey scud.
Thanks guys

Boston. I'm going to search for an apartment and sort out stuff at a community college that I plan on attending this semester.
It's a hassle regardless but this weather is going to make it 100 times worse. I'm excited though.

Where are you coming from? Congrats on taking a big step in your life! What college? I go to Northern Essex and it is a GREAT school and the best looking community college around IMO. What do you want to major in?

I'm coming from a little town around KY/TN and I'm enrolling at BHCC.
I dunno what I want to major in yet. That's one of the reasons why I want to be around the Boston area-just to be surrounded by diverse cultures and different occupations. There's not much of anything here. I'll probably transfer to a 4-year university but I'm not 100% sure yet.

As I said it is hellish cold right now, but its gotta warm up soon. Could be worse. One good thing is that the airport/highway cleanups are normally up and running a few hours ever after bad storms. Some neighborhoods lag behind, and if we don't get melts it becomes a bitch to park, but you can get in/out of the city.
Maybe I should warn you about the parking sitch in Boston winters. If you see someone has blocked off a spot on a residential street with cones/chairs/trashcans it means that they claimed that spot. Weather they shoveled it themselves or not, people will beat and stab eachother over a parking space this time of year. Its kind of a tradition I guess.
I wouldn't worry about getting stuck at the airport as you can't really plan around storms. Never know what you'll get until it shows up. Don't get caught out on the streets without a ride to someplace warm though. This is the kind of weather that kills people left unprepared.
Welcome to New England! I'm down for the gathering and let me know if you want any advice!

I live around the area as well. Meeting people on the shroomery kinda makes me paranoid to be honest
But, I'd still be down to potentially meet up at some point. I'm a college student so I'll be there for the next 4 months.
You guys ready for this MA winter? I'm from the northeast but damn goin to school in MA during the winter is pretty rough, at least for me. Shit always seems so bleak, there is absolutely no where good to trip near me during the winter, too much grey. I'm gonna be heading up to Maine at some point just to escape the city.

QFT out in the suburbs its beautiful to trip. The state parks especially to name a few (Myles Standish, borderland,Massasoit) mylkes Standish being my favorite. The dead silence is beautiful.
The blue hills overlook is also nice when its not too busy!

Yeah man kentucky is known for it's horses but has lots of airports. I remember the first airport I ever went to. I was about 4 and my dad said we had to go to Wisconsin to see about a new horse named Clatter. Clatter was a strong able-bodied horse built with a chiseled jaw line and nimble demi-god legs. I remember my dad wanted me to ride this horse but I just couldn't. I couldn't abuse this animal. My father's argument was that I was only a hat to the horse. An abusive hat, at that.
and that's the story of why I refuse to wear hats. even in cold boston weather.

I've never even seen a horse in my life. I think the first time my eye views a horse I will rejoice. There are thousands of horses in Kentucky but the problem is they go years without anyone riding on them. I know my cousin used to ride on horses all the time, but he owns a farm in Idaho. He actually works on his farm atleast half the day & rarely has any visitors.
Yeah I usually won't wear a hat myself but I think I would enjoy dressing a horse up in one. I could just imagine creating a video where I remove the hat from my head & then place it on the horses, like that moment would be comic gold I think.

I feel the same way. I'm also in the Boston area. I a gathering would be fun, but I would rather not have my identity tied to my user name, even if I never engage in illegal activities anyway. I do enjoy the anonymity of the internet.

Yeaaa it is, although I'm not a massive fan to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I really like them, but I was listening to them when I first decided to create a shroomery account and so out of impulse I just named myself OliverJames.
But ya, if you guys do wanna meet up somewhere in Boston, I'd be down. I prefer to keep my identity anonymous tied to this account but I'm interested in meeting some of the dudes who post on here. I've never met anyone else who actually posts on the shroomery, I have met lurkers tho

Let's do it. Maybe a concert would be a good venue. We can all wear a special token to signal our allegiance. The word shroomery does not even need to be mentioned.
