With Amanita species it's important you carefully dig up the base of the mushroom for identification purposes. That being said, these seem like they could be Amanita muscaria var. persicina.

In this instance, make sure to carefully collect the mushroom with the base intact and take photos of all parts (base, stem, gills, etc.).
Cool find

There is more than one species of Amanita that grows in your area that is red and white. Not usually this time of year(I think) but either way.
Red and white toadstool is not really a very accurate way to ID a mushroom.
It does however appear to be an A. muscaria of some type which I think is what WhoManBeing was trying to say.
Dig up the whole thing like MC was saying.

Is that growing in sand? Groves amanita muscaria grow all over my neck of the woods (Minnesota), and yes, that looks like the correct toadstool to me. Do make sure there's a bulb at the bottom and frills about an inch beneath the cap, though.
Also, prepare for foaming at the mouth, and all other sorts of fun things, if you intend to eat it.

The "trip" is most likely not what you are hoping for. A. muscaria is labeled as an "inebriate," not hallucinogenic. It might get you drunk, but this is not a psychedelic mushroom.

The problem is that the along with the drug, this mushroom contains a neurotoxin called ibotanic acid. because of this you never know whether your experience will be pleasant, or full of nausia and hot / cold flashes etc...

I think I remember reading that cooking at a low temperature breaks down the ibotanic acid leaving the Muscimol intact, I never eaten them so I have zero first-hand knowledge on the subject.

if you completely dry them out before eating them then most (if not all) the toxins are destroyed, without affective the Muscimol.

This is not true at all. I did an experiment with this species and gave 2 different people the same dry dose. One had a pleasant experience, mild euphoria, uplifted energy. The other went temporarily blind, had hot flashes, cold flashes severe nausia etc...
When I find this species I fry like 30 - 40 wet grams in butter for the extrordinary flavor and have no notable positive or negative effects.

There is a wealth of information about on both preparation and likely outcomes of consuming A. muscaria on this website and the interwebs as a whole. I would strongly recommend researching these thoroughly before you make any decisions.

To my knowledge.. it is a sacrament.. doesnt really follow the laws of reality and is really unpredictable.. if you are looking to get high, you will probably get a lesser expereance... if you are looking for divinity.. you can get it.. though it is obtainable through simpler means too...
-------------------- And thus begins the reverse-fusing of our one-dimentional understanding, and adds ever-expanding perspectives, in depth and number; splitting our perception, and in so doing, seemingly irrationally, creates yet more one-ness, with all that ever was, is and will ever be, streching across the infinite, inunderstood concept of everything, percievable and not.
