Using bucket instead of filter bag

I just bought a Golden Teacher growbox kit. Im still at the folks so im trying to be as stealth as possible so i was wondering whether i could replace the filter bag with a bucket? (this buckets been in my room for time and is regularly seen by them so its cool)

The bucket holds the grow box perfectly and once the lid to the bucket is on it's fairly air tight so itll hold humidity well + the temp is at steady 25celcius but do i REALLY NEED that little filter on the provided filter bag? or can i just bin it use my bucket and open the lid once a day?
Apologies if this is in the wrong thread and i searched before i posted.
Cheers Im UK based by the way

Sounds to me like you bought pre-sterilized bags of spawn too?

Ok so this is my bucket with the grow box inside, it fits great: ( i can put the grow box inside the filter bag THEN inside the bucket but its kinda squashed)

The filter bag that came with the grow box kit:

The little set up i have out of prying eyes: (Basically its just a vegie basket on top of a heat mat)

and the heat mat raised slightly off the floor which the bucket will go on top of:

I just think that with the grow box in the bucket rather than the bag there's more room. What do you think?

get some perlite for your tote and drill 1/4 inch holes spaced 2 inches apart on all six sides and elevate it with jars or whatever your using now so air can pass up and underneathe it, don't use the bag they gave you your tote and perlite will serve you much better

Nice one for the advice cronicr! but i gotta drain the box in the morning so no time to get perlite or fuck about. Also im planning on a cup or two of water in the bucket to create humidity and open the lid of it once a day and fan to freshen up. Do you reckon this will be ok? (all without the filter bag?)

it's passive/constant fresh air exchange your after, if your around enough to baby sit it you can always treat it like a mono tub and just drill the six holes stuffed with poly and have a fan running in the room and mist when the surface starts to look dry
basicly what i'm saying is to focus more on fae then humidity for best results, as long as your misting/fanning it out when needed the evaporation from your misting will give your sub 100% humidity on the surface where it matters most, the rh in the chamber just controls how fast your sub drys out and makes sure your fruits don't dry out, so if you have some passive fae it will help give you some constant and steady evaporation

illegal through and through. A good few years back, shops started to pop up here and there because of a loophole (i cant remember exactly) probably as you said, they were legal at some stage then another illegal.
Then they realised, closed the loophole and raided all the shops.
We do have Liberty Caps that grow wild in abundance but i read recently they have people patrolling the parks looking out for pickers. IF your caught, youll probably just be cautioned same with most of the common drugs over here.
The kit i bought got through no problem though, i even got to track it with the transit company. But anyway as i said Class A's.

I hate to be a bitch... But don't grow drugs at your parents house.
Really... You don't have to be a mathematician to see the outcome.

QFT. It really does not matter how you present the facts. Growing when roommates/parents do not condone is a recipe for disaster. I hate to say that the first thing you should be doing right now is finding a stable place to reside on your own. What you are insinuating will lead to nothing but troubles. Have some common decency for their rules. It will get harder and harder for you to hide that thing from them....I don't care how good you think you are, you obviously don't give your parents enough credit. They are smarter than you think, and mothers can feel you doing wrong across 3000 miles of open ocean.

Shrooms were completely legal when fresh until 2005 (although considered a Class A drug if dried or prepared as tea), and live myc growkits were common. They were outlawed in July 2005, and picking wild semilanceata became a crime.
But as everyone says, move out of your parents' home and grow psychedelics at your own place.
