So as we all know, im still a beginner at this lol. But i have my first large amount of spawn finally! In the pictures ive got 5 jars at like 98%, there are a few 1/2cm spots that need to colonize, will probably be ready by tomorrow. To the right of those are 4 jars at about 70% or so. I just gave them a shake this morning. And finally 9 more jars of fresh G2G. In the back you cant see two more jars that were my masters for the past two sets of g2g. Prolly just gonna toss them into my back yard, i wont have any more jars for a while. Bills to pay yanno.

So heres a question. My g2g process is as follows:
1. Clean restroom and place all materials in said restroom. 2. Spray down bathroom with air sanitizer, and again about 5 mins later. While waiting i went through my whole house and misted liberally. 3. Common sanitation process (gloves, mask, iso) and a final spray of air sanitizer after i enter and close the room, letting the mist fall on me as well. 4. Transfer as most people would, taking the lids off for as little time as possible, wiping down jars with iso etc.
The 9 jars that are close to finishing used this same process and seem to be contam free. But is this process incredibly flawed? Was my last batch just a fluke and didnt get contaminated? What can i change in this process? I know a laminar flow hood would be ideal, but i dont have one yet. Hopefully i can make one in the next month or so.

You can make a still air box in the meantime. If you have one of those you might not even need a flow hood.

I do have a still air box. Its on the floor right below that shelf lol. It is just not large enough to do quart jars in. Innoc from a syringe, but not g2g. So a good alternative on the cheap is just a larger SAB?

Oh nice lol. Innovative. I pasteurized 6qt of substrate today, and will probably make my mono fairly soon. Strangely enough, i picked up one of the jars out of the pot, and the bottom came off of it lol. So i actually only have 5qt of bulk to use.
