Cycle timer built in to power strip
    #19360644 - 01/02/14 08:44 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

Any thoughts on using a power strip with built in timers?

For example the one below has 4 outlets, 3 of which can be independently programmed.  The idea is you first plug it into a computer, run a program to setup your timers, then save the settings and detach it from the computer.

This would allow separate cycles for humidifier, fans, and lighting.  Seems less cluttered and at 90 bucks not much more expensive than 3 separate cycle timers of decent quality.

Thoughts?

I believe the one you are talking about has a single timer that controls outlets all on the same schedule.  So for example you could not use it to time 12/12 lighting, humidifier, and fan.

Also most of them seem to have either limited cycles per day or course grained intervals like 15 min or higher.

You may not need all of this, but I'm wondering if there is any down side compared to 3 separate cycle timers.

Thanks,
K

Iv got one like the one you are describing and it sucks iv had to ad a separate timer for my humidifier.

the one described in the OP sound a little more advanced.
