killing mushrooms?

I have had a recent flush of what I think are death caps in my back yard, either way they aren't active and i dont want my pets eating them so I don't want them growing there, I've heard that putting baking soda over the fruiting bodies and around the area will kill the mushrooms and stop them from growing back? Just curious if this is true or if there is a better way of stopping these from growing back?
ps. Not sure if this post is I'm the right place, if not sorry for any inconvieniance.

Stomp on them, and destroy the mushrooms completely, so they don't emerge again. Baking soda will not help, it's not a fungicide. On a side note, you might want to properly identify them first to know exactly what you're dealing with, to find out if they are indeed dangerous to your pets or not (there is a whole mushroom identification forum here).

Depending on what kind of mushroom they there may not be much of anything you can do to stop them from growing back.

If they were 'death caps', they would have died. So they're obviously not very dangerous.

Cut every tree, and pave over the yard. This is not sarcastic, this is the only solution. Fighting nature is futile. You can kill the mycelium of that species, another will take it's place. If they are indeed death caps, you can cut the tree they are mycorhizzaly associated with and they won't come back. And yeah, you're asking people on this site, who's life and passion are mushrooms how to destroy them...
