I didnt cross post but the thread was locked. I saw a tan flying sphere, it may have been a ballon but Im not sure. Jackle said that I should visit the OTD, than that was errased.What does OTD mean? He said that it was full of men in black. On a completely different note, Does psilocybin cause brain damage? Think about it. Intelligent people find this site and think to themselves how interesting, growing hallucinogenic mushrooms, what a cool science project. Than they get the impression that they are perfectly safe and they take increasingly higher doses.

Psilocybin increases brain activity. Some scientists believe it's what revolutionized the thought process of homo sapiens to give us the intelligence we have today. And your logic for psilocybin causing brain damage is very, very stupid. People don't take increasinly high dosages of mushrooms, that's opiates. If someone takes a high dosage of mushrooms, it's because...well people do it for a lot of different reasons, but it's definetly not because they're addicted and their tolerance will stop them from having their hands feel just like two balloons unless they take more.

I didnt say that psilocybin causes brain damage.
I dont know for sure that psilocybin causes brain damage but I think that it does.
I was asking if psilocybin causes brain damage. The UFO I saw is a completely different topic.

Have they found lasting changes in neurons of mice. If it causes brain damage, than this is very very bad.

no it doesn not cause brain damage. whippits cause brain damage, not psylocybin mushrooms. Also if someone was smart enough to grow some shrooms, dont you think this supposed "smart person" would use his or her head long enough to read about what they are growing before they decide to eat some.

A friend and I seen a UFO when I was tripping once... but we just kept it to ourselves. How do you tell someone you seen a UFO while you were on shrooms? People will just make fun of you.

Agreed on the mushrooms, but I suggest you do your homework first on nitrous before spouting the typical ignorant line that high school kids use.
Let me make something clear: there's no proof of any sort that nitrous oxide directly causes brain damage. Excessive use can deplete Vitamin B12 levels, but this can be countered by a decent diet and/or vitamins. The only conceivable way to cause brain damage with nitrous is to take repeated hits for hours on end without hardly taking a breath of air. This causes *oxygen deprivation*, which can kill cells. But nitrous on its own does not. If you want to argue about dissociatives in general, I suggest you view the Erowid report "Dissociatives: The Bad News _Isn't_ In."

Well Psilocybin has been used for thousands of years with no documented proof that it causes any kind of brain damage. The only dangerous associated with them is if the user has an unstable mind.

Let me just clear something up. There are two compleatly different topics in my post. I saw a UFO, it has nothing to do with mushrooms (or at least I dont think it does). Im being serious, im not trying to say that it causes people to see real hallucinations when they are not on it. The reason why I posted that in this thread is because I wanted to kill 2 birds with one stone. They locked the thread on the ufo.

Its not fun to think about unpleasant things. HPPD is real. That is surely a form of brain damage, their must be long lasting changes in the brain to cause HPPD. The question is if it causes a decline in intellect. Im curious if they can find changes in neurons of mice given psilocybin. Listne, brain damage is one of the worst things in the world, it changes who you are, it will destroy your life. Smoke some marijuana and think about it, get really stoned and think about what brain damage means and think about being doomed forever and being a bum. Think about being traped in stupidity and not being able to fix it. In fact you may already be stupid but you just dont know it yet. There's something to think about next time your high.
Even if it causes mild brain damage that is terrible. But I dont know if it causes brain damge or not. For all I know t could make you smarter, as some have claimed, but I highly doubt it. I just dont know. Do you know for sure?
