I had my aortic valve replaced with a mechanical one. Tell them you eat the cannabis. Then start eating the cannabis. Or at least vape. I have stents in my aorta from when I was a kid and they help keep it open.

Mines wrapped in this mesh thing, you can see it on xrays. looks like a little ring with 3 prongs on it haha. They want to put in a mechanical, but the area where the aneurysm is makes it extremely hard for them to remove it.. Ive been vaping lately anyway. Just curious, does the mechanical valve effect your life in any serious ways? i heard it could fuck up your life.

Eveniftheskyfalls said: So i have a blood test coming up, either sometime this month or early February. I have an aneurysm so if thc is found in my blood my doctor will give me sh** about it. I read that it only stays in your blood stream for up to 5 days, But that it stays in your fat cells for weeks. Im 5'10 145. So can i have opinions on whether i should stop not or wait until a week before and then stop? Much appreciated
TECHNICALLY; thc stays in your blood for 14-45 days.
However, I was once blood tested and did not know the drug panel was being added. I had smoked everyday for a week and two hours prior. for some really strange reason; I came up clean for everything.
Blood testing for drugs is expensive though. Plus, your doctor is your doctor. His income comes from you and your insurance. So taking his shit won't mean anything to you if you don't let it. Unless, of course, you are not above 18 and/or your parents are of concern to you.
Anyways, best of luck. Good vibes to all.

I'm glad I went mechanical. Last up to 20 years....only problem is the ticking and blood thinners. Ive only had mine in for what will be one year In four days. Physically its great....my cardio is amazing and my health has improved. Lost weight gained muscle.
Mentally I'm a little fucked. I died a few times during op due to a bleed out and a lung collapse....so many draining tubes were in my sides sucking out blood while I lay helplessly on a ventilator.
Thankfully I had this little button that when I poushed I got a hit of morphine. I could push it three times a minute in the ICU.(I didn't eat or poop for weeks). I could ask the cute nurses for iv Valium an they all promptly agreed.
Mechanical valve....worth it.

This. As stated in my above post: the drug panel has to be added to any blood tests, as far as I'm aware. But will your doctor seriously do anything to affect you even if thc is found in your blood? I mean, he's there for your health, not to test your morality or legality. Plus, we all know marijuana is anything but harmful to your health.

Can you hear it ticking??? and i heard blood thinners are bad.. like if you even get a bruise youd have to go to the hospital because it will keep bleeding. Quote:

Ok, with the drug panel will i have to check that part off? or will it just be there

It depends. Are you going to a clinic or like a quest diagnostics type center yourself to get blood tested, or is your doctor going to personally take blood from you?
If it is the latter, then I assume it is up to the doctor. If it is the former, then it will be up to you to check what you please.
I personally doubt your doctor will put a drug panel in your testing, simply because that's not what he's looking for. I assume he would ask you if you take any illicit drugs beforehand, yes? That's what doctors do where I'm from.

Its more of a reassurance now....if I hear it clicking I know its working proper. I haven't had any problems with bruising. Sometimes I'll get a bruise out of no where but its no big deal.
Just carry a high bleeding risk tag with you incase you're ever in an accident. When are you planned for surgery?

Probaly this year. considering that aneurysms have a tendency to keep growing, i hope its this year.. its at almost 5cm.. but thanks for the info on the mechanical.. ill deff keep that in mind. i cant even play sports with friends (im in college) cant go on carnival rides, cant drink energy drinks. cant do most drugs.. it sucks.. all i know is when i have another surgery i get to have a benefit and get some money that i truly need. Goodluck with everything fellow heart patient! Quote:
