sololas said: man this cold is making some meaty fruits outhere its just incredible how pretty they are during the cooler weather. I hear that they can be reallyas good when they grow in cooler temps. Gonna dry mine from yesterday and save for next weekend when im on my island camping out.
what area of the state are you picking?
Sorry took so long to answer . Im West of Ft.Pierce about 10 miles heading to Okeechobee. Its w.Treasure coast area of FL. Im thinking of going Thur-Fri for another hunt. The weather this winter has produced some meaty ones.

Good luck everyone!!!!

I envy y'all to the south of me. It's still way too early for any action up here
The problem at my haunt is that horse poo doesn't break down well unless the flies and beetles work it, and they ain't around yet. Pc doesn't like to colonize HP unless it's well decayed.
I had the foresight to take a spore print from my Most Awesome '13 find, and I have graciously accepted Natures' Gift for the off-season. April can't get here quick enough though. I just love walking along in the pasture and... Oh, hello Little Friends

It has come to my attention that I pronounced blewit incorrectly. It should sound like "darn, I really blew it."
How were you saying it? I can't even think of another way.

I was saying blehWIT, when instead it is apparently pronounced BLEWit. Emphasis on the first syllable instead of the 2nd, and sounds like blue instead of bleh or bluh.

Went out earlier this morning and didn't find much except a random amanita I wasn't going to deal with lol. From the looks if it though tomorrow would probably be better imo.

Sorry if some of these pictures are out of focus, my phone lacks a macro function. -_-
Beautiful day to go on a "Nature Walk"

Gopher Tortoise

Pan. Papilionaceous

Pan. Antillarum

Pan. Cyanescens

Psilocybe Cubensis

Are these Pan. Sub.? I'll post a seperate I.d. thread as well for these.
Stinkhorn with a Pan. Cyan.

This guy smelled like a rotting corpse.

Not sure what species of polypore this is.

??? These guys are cool.

sentientity welcome to the shroomery and cool finds! Great first post
3iRiS9, Cool finds as well. At a glance, the first stinkhorn is a Lysurus species and the second is Clathrus columnatus. Your suspected Panaeolus subbalteatus/cinctulus are not Panaeolus (any more info/spore print?) and your last two photos are Russula and possibly Inocybe.
