Fantastic Kyle!! Look at that intense multi fruiting. Starting to see more of that. What is this? Not sure I recognize the strain? Almost looks like an Ovoid/sub cap with a panaeolus type stem. Weird!!??

Not one active. wood lovers are starting. Reishi, I find year round. the white ones are a flavicon sp. I think. the cupped pinkish ones on the wood, I dunno. the fuzzy ones I see alot but dont know their name either.guess season hasnt begun here in the 772
1-3. Panus rudis 4. Ganoderma lucidum group 5. Lentinus crinitus 6. Polyporus tenuiculus
Cool finds!
I'd call 5. "Lentinus crinitus group"
A lot of work being done on that genus atm- names might change or be created... and according to some folks I've sent samples to, there are a ton of species that we all call "L. crinitus".

I've had two collections last year sent to the lab at work/IFAS and both lined up. That's kind of exciting to hear though, how many do you mean by a ton? Any resources/links?

There's a couple dudes on MO who harass the shit out of me when it comes to the genus Lentinus lol... but yeah there's a lot dude.
I bought "The Genus Lentinus" online (super cheap) and it helps. I'm skeptical though... I feel like L. crinitus is just super diverse in its shapes and sizes.
Butttttttt... DNA sequencing will tell the truth...
By the way I have some cool fungal finds for y'all!!

Heavy rains the last two days, here's to hoping for some warm weather tomorrow!
Checked some pies a week ago and they were splitting white from drizzle.
Still looking for larger fields in the area to scout...

I think I'm getting a little anxious...
Would mushrooms appear in the open drier part of the field even if there's scattered rain every day?
Or does it need a complete full warm sunny day to fruit?
(makes me want to go out tomorrow and shoot some time lapse for research)

I thought it was warm and sunny every day in Florida from Feb to November? And mushrooms are definitely growing all of those days. And yes all parts of the field are viable options. It's damn humid for the rest of the summer so I say you are good to go. I'd love to see some time lapse photography on it though.

Ya spore printed one of those bad boys, would be stoked if I started growing my fields mushies indoors . Me and my buddy were hunting for like two hours to find all those usually get way more but it was only a little wet out there, still surprised with the amount we got.
