It's going to be a good start of the year. Getting good rain here and going hunting on the next sunny day.

Thanks Dr. Tooty!
Here's Gymnopilus growing from palm I found by the beach today. There's alot of interesting fungi out right now! I'll probably spend the weekend hiking in the woods again

Excited to see what Florida comes up with this year!

Cool Jims. I'd guess palmicola but I don't know if that species fruits this time of year...Are other species known to occur on Palm?

Yes, probably....The type collection of Gymnopilus palmicola was mixed and there was another species of Gymnopilus in there with smaller spores.

Of course...Why wouldn't that be the case...Another score for Gymnopilus.

Yay for the 2014 thread! I plan on going out tomorrow and seeing what I find. Since I am pretty new to this I will almost definitely be uploading pictures for further verification.
Good vibes, everybody.

There's two types that grow on Sabal palms and saw palmettos here. G. luteoviridis is also everywhere, and I wouldn't be surprised if it grew on palm, too.
2014 thread yeahhh!!!
cheers y'all

Went out this morning it was about 40 degrees and strong wind. Perfect picking weather to me. Got some nice cubes and more copes, I think the cold weather increases the quality of the fruits.

Pictures? I don't see very many wild cube pics these days.
