Pleurotus Citrnopileatus (golden oyster) a few questions

I was going to start with 7 quart jars 3/4 full with rye spawn. Was going to make few jars of plugs with 1 of the jars. Also going to make a few supplemented saw dust block with a few of the jars and some straw log bags ether plastic or burlap with the rest of the jars. I guess my main question is what would be the best way to fruit them indoors with not much space available. Shotgun tub or mono tub or small green house. would rely prefer a tub tek over green house but I guess I could always use the G.H. for plants also. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I have no experience with anything hardly, so if anyone else helps you out listen to them first. but I am just starting out and just had my first oysters start growing, by no means equal to the pros I have seen here, but I am happy to of had any grow. Anyways, I just put up my sort of setup of two bins upside down on each other, but I am planning on going with a greenhouse shelf or 'martha' type of thing, basically turning it into a mini greenhouse. seems ideal for a small grower to me, which will allow someone to setup a cycle with enough blocks to constantly have plenty of mushrooms and various types. The bins work, or are for me, but I want to grow a few varieties at a time and in rotation to have them sort of steadily I think.

I say forget the Martha and make one outta 1/2 PVC and painters plastic I have a 8x6 and I built it for less than a Martha and shower drip pan..
I would get a coolmist and ultrasonic and run them inside your FC.. make sure to have FAE coming in from outside the FC
Making a pan for catching water out of linoleum is a good idea that I will be using instead of tarp.. seemed to leak slightly..

he has the pics in the post from what I see.
How do you hold the plastic together and to the frame? you mentioned running your humidifier and mister inside your environmental tent, doesn't that cut their lives very short, working in such a high humidity?

Not really, their lives are short anyway, lol... almost all store bought humidifiers break after a short while, whether you have their intake hooked to fresh air or not. There's not that many electronics inside a humidifier, nothing that breaks from high humidity. They just break 'cause they're made shitty. Even pond foggers only last so long.
But 'em from wal-mart and keep you're receipt. They will likely die before the exchange period runs out, if not, you got a good one

I used a stapler for the plastic, was a pain in the ass doing it by myself haha.. but ya was super cheap.. just fold over the plastic a few times and staple. I used 2 9x12 sheets so was easy enough..
The cool mist it dosnt matter its very simple, but the ultrasonic has a lot goin on inside so yea I would assume it will short eventually, I got the warranty but I've been running it every 5 mins for the past 2months with no probs...
I will upgrade to foggers when I move to my farm.

well that doesnt make me happy thinking about my humidifier going out.... instead of keeping the receipt wouldn't it just make more sense to buy another one, and return the bad one in the new ones box whenever it did go out? The one I bought I did buy the 2 year extended warrenty though for $4 extra. not sure what it really covers though. that sounds lousy though...seems to me, we used to have humidifiers when I was a kid that lasted for like ever. We used to have this brown one, with a big 3-4" cone on top that sucked the water out of the base and blew it...not sure how well it was but I swear it was used a lot for years and years.
What other alternatives does one have for a home grower to make real humidity, any?

I think the biggest reason humidifiers go out is from mineral build up from using water that isn't distilled like the makers recommend. You can clean them out with CLR every once and a while or only use distilled water.

I agree. I only use reverse osmosis water for my fogger buckets. All you have to do is rub the fogger with your finger once a month, for a gentle clean.

To answer your original question a green house set up will be your best bet for any oyster species. But you can find a tub large enough and hook up computer fans and some sort of humidity with moderate success. You'll be happier with a GH.

Get or make a small greenhouse, add a small fan for FAE and make a fogger bucket or buy a coolmist from walmart on a timer for humidity; mist as necessary. Add a drip dray for the bottom to catch the excess water, but sometimes a wet/dry shop vac is easiest.
Here are some pictures of some of the first mushrooms I ever fruited in the first grow tent I made, from 4 years ago.
