syringe filter not providing enough FAE for jars

When I started, the FAE facilty of my jars were 4 inoc points which i would patch with millipore tape and a hole in the middle that is covered with a plaster. This works fine, but I wanted to get nicer easy re-usable lids with inoc points and a syringe filter to provide well filtered fae.
So I ordered some syringe filters and a bunch of inoc ports, some silicone and put it all together.
The 4 testjars I made like this and inoculated all colonize less fast than the old lids I decided to use one more time to be able to compare.

The hole for the center plaster fae hole was about the same size as the inside of the syringe filter, but does not seem to provide the same amount of FAE.
Now I am thinking about gluing 2 syringe filters to a lid instead of just one, and if that is still not enough, switch to synthetic filter discs glued over the hole instead.
My question is, who is using syringe filters like this? How much are needed per volume? When I take a synthetic filter disc instead (which is also within the syringe filter of course) and make that around 2.5cm / 1 inch, will that suffice with the 2mm center hole?

Shitty thing is I have 100 laying around now. They can be handy sometimes, but I rather had them working for my jars. Would 2 per jar be something to try or will that only waste my time?

Thank you for the link, I should have searched first, but when shops sell jars like that, it's an easy assumption they would work. Now I need to get synthetic filter disks of the right size and quality preferably in the EU.

Look for EcoFi, EcoFelt, FriendlyFelt
There are many names for it, you can find these at fabric / craft stores.
Its super cheap off amazon aswell, one 1.00$ sheet can make 30-40 disks.

I learned this the hard way, 2 grain jar with syringe filters
the first one took fucking 6 weeks to colonize LOL
the second one barely colonized around 25% and slowed down to a crawl
upon changing the lids with SFD covered holes the one that was barely 25% colonized just took off and finished

Thank you, I just exchanged the filters on the jars with some nice 2mm thick felt. We will see if they take off again and finish colonizing within a few days.
To be honest, I do not think I will use these syringe filters for anything. I have LC's but they are doing fine without gas exchange at all.

I did order different types of felt to see what I could use best, because as always, brands differ on different parts of the world.
I got myself some sheets of hobbyfelt (1mm) 100% viscose, bamboofelt (1mm 50% bamboo 50% viscose), woolblend(1.2mm) 20-35%wool-viscose, frescofelt(1.5-2mm) 80% wool 20% viscose, and 100% wool felt (3mm). When I look trough them using a light, I tend to go for the fresco or 100% wool type, as I cannot see trough them. They are also the thickest with 100% wool 3mm and the fresco being 1.5-2mm thick.
The others all have a structure that show little holes, making them unsuitable in my opinion. How does easyfelt look in front of a light?
