The wife and I are invited to a new years party at a friend´s house... they asked us to bring 3 ingredients per person and the plan is to mix everything and everyone up, make teams and cook using the ingredients given to the team!
we´ve done this once before and it was a very good experience!
which three ingredients would you go with?

well... results are in... it was a damn good meal, 4 course, better than any fancy chmancy restaurant ever! we were 12 people divided by the draw of the hat to teams of 3, each team had it´s course (appetizers, first course, second and desserts) 30 minutes for the starters and desserts and 45 minutes for the main courses. we could mix all and any of the ingredients plus use basic stuff like olive oil condiments and so forth...
we ended up taking:
fresh mint
yoghurt
onions
falafel mix (no one used it though...)
a loaf of my home made bread
tomatoes
the big surprise was the mint... i think every team used it somehow! me and the wife were drawn first for the appetizers, naturally we made canapés (or pinchitos), a sallad and we took out a plate of cheeses. goat cheese smokes salmon and mint, avocado and mango, some creamy cheeze with pepper marmalade and dill, olive paste and sausage. lentel sallad. olives.
among the other memorable things were fried eggplants with pepper marmalade, and eggs with mushrooms asparagus and truffle, buck wheat (which i mixed with an agg plant an lentel mix they made) apart of the desserts which were 5 star all around, i can´t begin to explain but the elaboration and presentation were amazing. not to mention the twist on the traditional 12 grapes for the countdown (over here in Catalonia you eat 1 grape with each church bell at 12) they made some cava and grape and mint coctail... oh god...
and then there was wine, and cava, and sweets... we went out to stick hearts on top of the village signs (its called Ultramort, or loosly translated to english UltreaDeath) converting them into UltrAmor (Ultralove) for breakfast we got up for a hike up Montgri to watch the sunrise and eat some more and second breakfast and then lunch

certainly was a good start this year! hope you guys had as good a time as i did!
and strangely enough my tummy didn´t get too upset,
