About spore sprint / spore syringe and drying the shrooms.

Hey folks, I have come up with a question because there is something I do not get, so I must be missing something.
In order to do a spore sprint, you carefully cut the cup and place it on foil. Then you cover it with a jar or whatever and wait 24 hours for the spores to fall of from the cap and then you just fold the foil and store in a dry place until preparing the syringes.
Now, for the syringes, you need to put the spores in distilled water and then "suck it up" with the syringe, correct? I have been reading you need a glove box to do this. I do not understand why. When you are spore printing you do not use any glove box so the spores are exposed to the air. Why you need a glove box to put them in the syringe? I do not understand why. Please, let me know if I am missing a step here.
Also, I have my very first couple of shrooms drying now (tomorrow probably a lot more to harvest) and I noticed one thing:
The cap on the inside is becoming very dark. I believe I read that is a good sign for potency. Is that correct?
Also, I planned to just keep them drying with the fan for 2-3 days, as I heard I won't need to do the desiccant thing. Will it be enough with just the fan?
Thanks!!

the cap darkening is no relevence to potency and a fan won'tget them to cracker dry where you want them.you should also let the print dry upp before folding the foil and storing it. we use still air boxes becasue even though the cap was fruited in open air you wanna keep your syringe and print as clean as possible anyway

You can wait on more experienced growers to chime in. But personally what I do for prints is to print on a Petri dish. It works for me basicaly I put the cap in Petri dish overnight then take cap out and parafilm the side. I don't know jack about making syringe only theoretically because I never personally made them myself. To grow the prints out I make pda then put a piece of the print in the agar of course with all sterile precautions and flowhood on. In my opinion get a nesco dehydrator it is worth it. But yeah since your mushrooms are already picked fan dry for at least 2 days then leavem in a paper bag if you wanna be extra cautious. This is what I did before I got my dehydrator

Thanks! That says how to sterilize syringes, I was wondering how to get the spore in the syringe.
I see there are other methods than spore syringes, are there other better methods?

there are lots of methods, i personelly just suck boiling water up in my syringe a few times and leave it one last time to cool and sterilize a babyfood jar with just a tiny bit of water in the bottom and wrap it in foil , pull it from the pc when it cools and take it to my sab sterilize my "scraper"(nuthing to sharp)scrape some spores in flame my needle squirt the water in and suck it back up and cap it

You can pick the mushroom for cutting right when the veil begins to tear to reduce risk of contamination. You print won't look as good as a flat cap would though.

After you remove the cap you should re-cover and let the print dry for 24-48 hours, then fold it up.
Also be sure to not touch the cap with your fingers, use a push pin to move the cap around.
Here's a good link to some basic spore printing technique.

It's not a bad idea to take your prints inside a GB or SAB. Doing it in there will help you make clean spore prints, which will come especially in handy for people trying to make syringes out of them like you are

No, those are just the spores.
Blueish / Greenish hue to fruits that have been handled are generally a good sign for potency.

It will be fine but a cheap food dehydrator will work the best
