I've never seen or heard of black cyans, but even if they are I'd say they're a little to old to eat

Looks like the cyans I would find when I get outside too late. , so I would wait for a trusted identifier before calling them cyans just to be on the safe side

Yuck. There's no way to tell what it is but eating black goop can't be good for you.

Looks more like a decaying Gomphus sp. with that shape.
Perhaps you could provide a little more information on the surrounding habitat?

I could see those being cyans. Only way you're really going to find out is waiting for them to fruit again though.

I've picked them in the snow/ice and if they look like that, don't even bother picking it. Even if that was a cy it would be rotten. better luck next year.

Yes, although it's not unheard of, but because of how cold it's been this year if you did find any they wouldn't be good. You could probably find a few Psilocybe pelliculosa stragglers left around.

Depends on where you are. I found cyanescens in February 2009 at a park in Fort Tuna CA. It was a single small specimen ,but still a cyan.
