A weakened version of the virus or disease causing agent that isn't strong enough to make you sick but teaches your immune system how to fight it off.

24 vaccinations in the first 15 months of life. Sounds totally safe.

Clearly children were far safer back in the days before vaccines.

There are two reasons humans live twice as long as they did 100 years ago: the Haber process and vaccines.

I'm not arguing that vaccines do or don't cause autism, but I do believe more thorough research is needed on the long term effects of injecting children with so much stuff. This is a good video if you can sit still for 45 minutes...
Also, this link contains links to a variety publications about studies on this issue...

Yeah...dead virus material basically. That and preservatives. The thiomersal that has now all but disappeared from the vaccines was a preservative. http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/additives.htm

Research is always good, but be aware that human vaccines are so phenomenally well researched in terms of short and long term effects that it is questionable how much more thoroughly you'd want to research them.

And, even if there were cases of autism linked to vaccines, their benefit is so overwhelming, that it wouldn't change much.
I find it interesting that, while people still push the vaccine theory without any data to back it up, there is something that has a very strong correlation with increased autism rates - the age of the parents. But of course, that puts the "blame" squarely on the people who chose to have a child in their late 30s and not a big pharmaceutical firm.

My age group was the last one to get mandatory smallpox vaccinations in the US. Everyone younger than me has no immunity. Suckers.

I think development of germ theory (of which vaccines can be said to be a product of) has a greater claim to extending human life span--vaccines reduce our chances of being taken out before i'm 20, but they don't increase my chance of living from 70 to 100.
I also disagree on the claimed role of the haber process--but i'll let the sit on the back burner for now.

Personally I don't think so. I chalk it up to shitty genetics. We only have one severe case in my family. Sweet girl but raising her was a huge challenge for both parents. Even more so when my uncle died of cancer. Yup my spunk has cancer and autism who wants to father my little shits.

Could also just be down to genetics. But it's an interesting hypothesis.

If smallpox is ever used by terrorists or in warfare...

Exponential human population expansion couldn't have happened without it. That's true.
