Con dealers are a big part of the "problem" when it comes to numismatics. Even bullion, why should these thieves be taking a 10% spread between the bid and ask on a silver bar? Gotta pay a buck over spot for a 100 oz. bar, then they buy back at 40 cents UNDER spot? Like you say, tough to make $$ when you give up 10% and that's the "legitimate" ones.
The only glitch in your thinking silver should go back to 5 bucks is that the central banks have increased the debt by about 300 percent over the last 10 years. Granted, it's not "monetized" yet, and the economy stinks, and we are in a shrinkage mode, but that fiat money should keep a floor on the price of metals, at some point in the not too distant future.

Noted. So by Dec. 31, 2015 it will be 20% higher than right now, no matter what happens in the interm? Right now it is 1162.30. 1162.30 + .2*1162.30 = 1394.76.
I don't want to see you go, but I do like that you made a specific prediction. Stick around in either case.
Looks like you were very wrong. Not only did it not go up, it went down...

It's how it works sometimes man.
At least you have them as a windfall to do what you need to do.
