Really cool year end pictures
Yea, this thread will also "die" much sooner than that when the 2015 version is posted. It's convenient to post at the end of the year lol. Thanks I think they're cool too

Right around 20 degrees F the temp goes from uncomfortably cold to painfully cold it's like 10x worse.
Wow that sucks. Its like 76 where I am. holy shit
I was gonna say, for some of you that have nice weather year round, that white stuff on the ground is called "snow" and it only comes around when it's below "freezing."
It does suck though I'm jealous, 76 is right around perfect

that's like only -7C. You don't even need a coat at that temperature
It's like -18C here right now, but we hit temperatures of -37C(-35F)

If you seriously don't need a coat at that temp, I don't know what to say. I had been wearing a light jacket when it was in the 30s and just started wearing my extra layer (thick Carhartt coats are great) when it got down to ~0 F.
Last winter was worse though, we had like 3 months straight below zero, and it got down in the -20s F a couple times. -35 sounds just insane though, do you guys actually go outside in that weather? Fuck that lol. OUCH!
I've always said white people are crazy, spending so much time in cold places that our skin turned white I don't know how anyone could handle this shit even a few hundred years ago without modern technology to keep us warm.
I can handle the cold decently well, but I still hate it haha. Yea I know in like Alaska and well, Canada basically (especially the farther up you go of course) it's even colder than here. Y'all are crazy, but damn you gotta be tough too.
PS your new avatar is weird but I like it

Bundle up right and you can handle anything pretty easily. I've made 4 hour long treks in -55C weather for chronic without even catching a chill.

I certainly wouldn't want to spend an extended period outside at -7C with no coat. If it's just for a few minutes though it's not a big deal.

I agree and laughed with everything you said
20f(-7c) is pretty tame for myself. I generally wear a thicker long sleeve shirt in weather like that for day to day activities. If I was to go for a big long walk outside or something, I would wear a coat and maybe even a toque to stop the chill on the ears.
I hate the cold too. When it starts hitting -30c plus wind...thats generally when most people hide inside here.
Ive had some pretty hard jobs in the past. I remember moments where I wanted to die while piling lumber by hand outside in -30 c for 8 hours a day. Ughh miserable shut

Since we're on this topic I'll expand a bit more. In ~0 F weather I can handle being outside for like 30 seconds or a minute without a coat, or 2 minutes, but if it's gonna be like 5 even I want a coat. In a really short amount of time you don't freeze right away but after a short length of time your hands get chilled all the way through and take like 10 minutes or more when you get inside for them to thaw out. That said I rarely wear gloves in the winter and haven't worn a hat yet, but that's sorta what a hood is for, but I might start wearing a hat soon, just to cover my long hair lol cuz I don't like it wavy looking. To cover my hands for a few minutes I just turtle myself in my coat haha.
Like you said the wind is what really kills you, I was actually thinking about that just a day ago while walking into work. Since the land around me is generally flat we get some good gusts of wind often enough, and I was thinking of how perfect it would be to get like 30mph winds on a 100 F day, 25 on a 90 day, 20 on an 80 day, 5-10 on a 70 day, 0-5 on a 60 day, and no wind ever below 60 lol. Does no good if it's humid though; take all humidity away too (in the summer anyway).
I work in a warehouse which isn't heated but once I get my blood flowing I heat up abnormally easily so I just wear a t-shirt year round, sometimes even a cutoff in winter, but in winter I wear work gloves, but that just makes my job easier in general, and when the boxes get cold it's not so much just about the cold but they're also harder to grip cuz there's less friction or something. If I had to run a mile in zero F I'd probably wear a t-shirt and shorts but have gloves and a hat. Walking = bundle up.
Basically, fuck the cold
Happy New Years! Got like 2.5 hours here and .5 til the liquor store closes unless they're open later tonight... I should go get some booze quick!
