I started this hobby exactly one month ago and am really liking it, i had troubles along the way ofcourse but i'm just glad i am fruiting successfully. AS for the teks i followed here;
I followed the http://www.shroomery.org/11387/Plastic-tek for faster colonization and affordability. As for my Fc, i followed a few different teks. I have the holes drilled in a grid 2 inches apart along tyvek covering 5 inch holes which i drilled on the top. I also have a bubblestone that i turn on if the RH gets too low or when i go to bed to make sure it doesnt get too low. I dunked and rolled half of the cakes to see the difference in growth

One of the questions i have is that why two cakes are growing what seem to be totally different mushrooms when i used the same syringe(Psylocybe Cubensis B)??
If it's the same strain still. MY second question is what causes the mushrooms to have no veil from the start and have the gills curling, is it because i didn't dunk a roll that one or what??
I would love anyone's input, as i said this is my first time and feel like a proud father xD thanks for your time

The reason some look different than the others and one has no veil (just a little mutation, no problem) is simply because of genetics. When using MS there are so many strains from that variety present within the syringe that you never know what you're going to get. If you want consistency you will need to start isolating specific genetics. Congrats on getting fruits, looks like some of those are ready to harvest

Thank you, answers my questions. How do i tell when to harvest if it has no veil tho? The ones with no veil hav been going about 4-5 days, ive just read so many people who rely on the veil tearing idk how to tell

those cakes are in horrible condition, they are dry as shit man, harvest those things and dunk it real good, the others with pins sit them in a saucer of water over night and maybe pile some moist verm on top,genetics and available moisture are your two biggest factors on fruit size, you should have dunk n rolled all of them. get rid of the air bubbler it's doing you no justice just make sure you have your sgfc elevated a few inches up so air can pass underneathe and thats there are no fans running in the room with a few inches of perlite your fine, the humidity that matters most is the stuff evaporating off your cakes the rest is there so your fruits/sub don't completely dry out or dry out too fast, just mist once the moisture from your prevoius mist has evaporated fanning after every mist. there all growing diffrent due to your enviroment conditions(some unked some not) and the fact that you used spores which means you have hundreds if not more "strains" in there, B+ is just a name if you want consistent looking fruits you need to look into strain isolations and cloning. good luck!

It's a little trickier to determine when to harvest mutants but it still shouldn't be too difficult. If its dropping spores then it's definitely time to harvest otherwise you'll have to use your best judgement.

Thank you cronicr, i will do that. I should of just followed one FC tek to be honest lmao, thank you though i will do that. Isnt it a problem if my humidity drops below 90 to the low 80s tho?? Thats the only reason i have the bubbler in there to keep the humidity up. I might have made too many holes in the top of my Fc, not to mention i didnt make any holes on the bottom. I think im just going to create a whole new FC soon

Just harvested the cake with no veils and am dunking it now. Im wondering though, over one night there is a lot of purple on one of my other cakes and on some of the pins on that cake. Im sure these are spores. Will the spores covering the pin's affect their growth?
