It is oh-so-close to adenosine.

welp.. adenosine being close... and it missing a big ol water on the sugar part..
lets try Deoxyadenosine
lookin a bit further pretty sure this is it with the hydroxyl in the right position Cordycepin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cordycepin

Warmer… There are several possible deoxyadenosines. Which do you mean?

Fumaric acid
Note: Fumaric acid is found in fumitory (Fumaria officinalis), bolete mushrooms (specifically Boletus fomentarius var. pseudo-igniarius), lichen, and Iceland moss.

Alright. Here's one with a twist to the rules.
Below are two images showing the identical chemical. This chemical is a "proteinogenic amino acid".

The isolation of the above chemical was first reported by Frederick Hopkins in 1901 through hydrolysis of casein.
To get this right: You have to provide the chemical name, the chemical formula, and a species of mushroom known to have a high amount of this chemical by posting an image of the mushroom with the scientific name of the mushroom.
If you want to go for "extra credit" (i.e. awesomeness upon thyself) you can include - in plain language - the reason(s) why a chemical can be drawn in the two different ways demonstrated above. Help one another learn.

that be tryptophan from wiki: Tryptophan or (2S)-2-amino-3-(1H-indol-3-yl)propanoic acid
can apparently be found in pretty high concentrations in Flammalina velutipes, which i didn't know, but just found a patch growing out back three, four days ago...

http://wholefoodcatalog.info/nutrient/tryptophan/mushrooms/
the two portrayals of the molecule are because one represents it two dimensionally, and the second ball one is trying to make a 3D
i knew i forgot something C11H12N2O2

Tryptophan is the correct chemical, and it's been reported in high quantities in the edible/medicinal mushroom Flammulina velutipes (= Enoki, Enokitake).
Why would we want to see the molecular structure in 3-dimension and 2-dimension? Is anything added or subtracted in showing either of these versions of the chemical?
You're up!

hmm in the flat representation, the double/triple bonds (to me) are easier to see and the ring structures more recognizable, however the 3D can try to account for twisting and chirality.
its too early to try to go explaining more of that and i'm sure i'd blow it.
next up!

this is toxic, and i think its interesting if for no other reason than its little three carbon ring, but there are lots of other reasons for it to be groovy.
i'm going to be traveling soon so hints might be sparse to non-existant
plz do keep playing if you get it, its sorta well known?

I'll ask for two hints at one time:
1. Is it a mycotoxin? 2. If not, what class and order is the chemical found in (in the Kingdom Fungi)?

yers, its a mycotoxin, and in commonly found gilled mushrooms
Kingdom: Fungi Subkingdom: Dikarya Phylum: Basidiomycota Subphylum: Agaricomycotina Class: Agaricomycetes Order: Agaricales
