Had some jars with contam, but now it seems to be gone?...

I set up several BRF Tek Cakes, and shortly after started to see signs of contamination in some of them. Just looked like greenish grey spots similiar to what you see on bread. Just small spots, about the size of pencil erasers, so I isolated those jars thinking I'd just let them continue and then dump them outside somewhere. But now many days later if you look at them, on some you can see the contam spread out some and is still very visibly present, but on a couple it seems as though it never spread and actually has been over taken with myc, so much that you can't see any contam and if I had just set the jars up and never looked until today I would just assume the jar is fine.
I'm thinking about going ahead and fruiting them (in a separate isolated chamber) if they continue to appear fine after consolidation. Granted I will also make sure they don't smell funny once I finally open them.
Sorry for being long winded, but I guess my question is this, is this something that is common? Myc fighting off some contam and saving cakes? Would you try to fruit it??

Hey Dude, I'm a slightly newer cultivator but I'll do my best to help ya out. The general consensus here is that with any sign of mold toss it out immediately. If they are contam'd and you birth them to open air, you will be spreading the contam likely on yourself, your house, everywhere, making future projects exceedingly difficult. Although on the other hand I have read that some people have had luck with myc beating infection then just cutting off that area after birthing. At this point you are the only one who knows the extent of the problem. I would recommend you post some pics, high quality if you can, then others here will be able to help you much more effectively. Also how far along are these jars? What temps are you incubating at? Did you use a dry verm layer?

Mycelium won't kill mold generally, all it has done is covered it. I send my contams to outdoor beds, where they still produce. Others just ditch them. Either way you don't want to fruit that inside, no.
Saw a thread once where some guy claims the myc survived and destroyed the mold, and went on for several flushes. Really not sure how faked the whole thing was though.

You'd also be wondering why your cake got taken over by mold shortly after birthing.
