Pins growing ONLY on or through black mold, inside the "Jar"??? (pics)
    #19349224 - 12/30/13 11:30 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

I am going to toss this ofcourse but i am VERY curious as to why there are soooo many pins growing through or on the black mold? I cannot see on single pin on the mycelium....Btw the "jar" is really a prescription bottle and they work great for speedy colonization.

Any input would be appreciated, just really curious as to why there are so many pins on the mold and none on the mycelium?

Contamination is a pinning trigger sometimes....

If contam is that much of a pinning trigger, im wondering if theres any way you could use that to your advantage then??? Because theres probably 50 pins in that small area

You could isolate it somehow probably.

you could probably clone from a pin and hope the mycelium grows faster than the contam....but thats some scary looking sludge contam XD

Yea don't mess with it unless you want to buy a new house.

- I opened up a package from University Scientific & had to buy a new    house.

I was just thinking of some how using contamination as a benefitial pinning trigger, i tossed this after taking the pic. I just thought it was weird how there was pinning only where the contam was

Contamination's not a pinning trigger. The mycelium not being able to colonize anymore of the jar is the pinning trigger. The mycelium can't colonize the contaminated areas
