From what ive read around and found, you wanna get a baking sheet and spread some epsom salt on it and good it up, not sure at what degree. But cook for 30-60mins. The reason for this is. You know how people put salt on the ground during the winter to prevent the sidewalks and driveways to freeze over? Well you can use that with mushrooms almost in the same concept. You bake them in the oven to basically dehydrate them and get all the moisture out of the salt. Then once its dry and dehydrated after 30-90mins. Let it cool til able to put in your mushroom container, then put a fan on your mushrooms and let them dry. them just switch it out. Im not sure about how often you can re use the salt but im pretty sure you can re use it a few times. and I just bought a big ol bag for 8$ at walmart. I just disabled the heat coir in my food dehydrator and lined the bottom with the salt and then stacked my shrooms and turned the fan on.
Real quick also, i read on a post that this one guy baked his epsom salt and it turned suuuper mushy and wet looking, nothing like salt would look lol. So then he closed the oven door and set the timer for another 60mins and then let the salt sit. and when he checked it it was rock hard. (like meth from breaking bad haha) and he had to break it with a screw driver into little pieces then stick in his drying chamber.

Unless you don't want to spend any money, just use this (DampRid, link at bottom). I went without a proper way to dry for 3 years, then I found this. It literally works perfect for me.
I just let them sit on news paper for 24 hours, then stuck those bad boys in a tuperware without letting the fungus touch the damp rid (put paper or something between the damp rid and fungus). it worked wonders.
anyways that's just my recommendation, either way is fine. This was like a magic bullet, though.

I baked my Epsom salt for an hour at 400c, fan dried for 24 hours. When I put them in Tupperware and checked on the mushrooms the next day they seemed to be more moist then before I put them in..?

They don't go in wet, you have to fan dry them first anyway. The NaOH/MgSO4/Damprid/whatever just sucks out the very very last 5% of the moisture. Anhydrous MgSO4 didn't work for me. I kiln-dried it. Old ass post! lol.

First off necro bump. Damn this thread.
Secondly, cracker dry if you mark if you want them to be stored. Go to Home Depot and get DampRid, it's very cheap...
