No, G. ventricosus because you are on the west coast.

Usually it is on conifer, but looks like you found it on Quercus agrifolia.

They might bruise brown a little bit, but the only bluegreen staining Gymnopilus species that I have seen in California is G. luteofolius.

Back in the day before I knew much about mushrooms;I heard some of my friends talk about eating big orange mushrooms near Priest Lake ID. They said the mushrooms made them feel groovy. I now wonder if this was the species. I found some spectabilis(ventricosus) while out hunting 5yrs ago that's caps were the size of medium dinner plates. They can get massive.
