Help Identify Mushrooms - SEQ
    #19348619 - 12/30/13 09:08 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

Went picking in fields outside of Woodford. Found only this type of mushroom . We would really appreciate some advise on whether these are edible and active. They are white, bruise grey, with a smooth conical head. Slender white stalks that don't bruise. Shoots have ejected spores into white paper towel. Sorry I don't know how to upload photos from a phone to here.

Some extra info.
The gills are attached and are a dark grey. The spore colour is grey too. The caps bruise a dark grey. The stems are white, thin and not hollow. They do not bruise.

Sounds like you are describing a Psathyrella species. Were they on wood? Based on that description, you do not have an active mushroom, and you should NEVER eat a mushroom that hasn't bee properly identified.
