yeah parenthood gives another level of responsibility all together. So uh i guess youth dies when you have kids, but it doesn't really die, you just hand it down to them. Plus most people say that kids will make them feel young again anyhow.

the only time having kids will make you feel young is if your old(reminds you when you were young and had yer first kid) or have kids from a previous relationship and found a new chick and got her preggers then yeah maybe. matter fact ask a woman if popping out babies makes her feel young.

There are plenty of musicians in their 50's, 60's still rocking it gives me some hope that being an older age and having energy is possible.

what is youth?
is it a physical state of body? is it a mindset?
my mental youth ended about 30 days ago. my physical youth will probably last another 6-10 years depending on how well I keep in shape

For me I started to slow down at 23, and started feeling the effects of aging at 26 or so. at 28 I am starting to feel old, but I know it will get alot worse. I'm mostly going by how fast my body tissues recover afer stress. Like for a long time I never had joint problems in the mornings, and I never woke up with my muscles all cramped and siezed after doing too many drugs. I no longer feel invincible. I used to love staying up all night, now I still do it but just makes me feel like shit.

I was dropping off a friend at his apartment this summer, and I guess his friend saw him and asked him later "was that your dad?" Well, stick a fork in my youth, cause it's done.

im almost 24 and while i do feel the 'slowing down' effect i find that it can be dealt with and overcome. and at certain times i feel more energetic than ever before, when i can actualize. staying up really late is a good way to do that actually.
interesting fact, i read in a very weird far out yoga manual once that the body normally 'anabolizes (grows)' cells until age 25 and 'catabolizes (death)' of cells occurs after that. I know some would scoff but i found the timeline interesting.
The manual itself was actually about the 'science of immortality' and obviously Kriya Yoga was the solution, through a yoga practice it's true that you can energize your cells and reverse many of the standard slagging effects that years seem to add on.

Being old is subjective.
I think its a mindset really to be old, when you start to realize all the mistakes of your youth, and understand that you are done making them. Its a maturity thing, its a collection of choices you make that when others see you doing them you are labeled as "old".
Because I know 50 year olds that use to make and sell meth with my 20 year old friends, this guy would still party like he was 21, always happy, being stupid and just acting like a full blown party animal. But no matter how young he acted he was still visibly old. He had graying hair, and weathered skin but his soul was not.
So you cant avoid aging, you cant avoid looking older but thats going to come at different times for everyone, some people look 50 at 30, some people look 30 at 50 its just how you age.
SO...its comes down to how you feel, when you start feeling, and acting older is when you are old, when that will be is different from person to person.
But if you want the question answered, I'll say around 30, if you are still acting like a young person at 30, chances are you are not going to change how you are acting, and stay that way until you die.
But again, its subjective.

Yep I know what your saying. I'm 23 and I can feel the last 5 years of heavy drug and alcohol use weighing me down. Although I do feel it can be overcome with good rest and eating on the healthy side. When I just sit around and sleep all day I feel like crap. If I sleep 6-8 hrs get up, eat a lite breakfast, smoke a bowl, then I feel like I can do anything.

Late 20's,30, somewhere around there. It's hitting me hard about now, and I'm 28. I think it's partially my biological clock telling me to grow up and do things normal adults do.
I have no responsibilities to anyone but myself though. I imagine someone who has kids and/or gets married in their early 20's would give an earlier age.
Physically I notice I feel different from my teens / early 20's. My party stamina is a bit less, and my metabolism has definitely slowed a bit. I still look roughly the same though.
Mentally I don't feel much different, except a bit wiser, more patience, and less angry.

Sounds cliche but I think its true. When you're younger, there are lots of easy "milestones" that you can generally base your age on (graduating high school, college, etc.) After these are done its really up to you.
I'm older and wiser, but generally don't feel much "older" than I did in my late 20's, as I approach my mid 30s.

Maybe if you start practicing now you can make it to the NBA! If you lack natural ability you can practice 8 hours a day for 40 years. With the right attitude it won't matter if you're 75.

Physically, if you stay active and in shape, the physiological changes are minor well into your thirties. My comments were directed more along the lines of attitude and outlook.

Professional athletes are at the far end of the bell curve, where even a minor reduction in ability washes you out. It is hardly a good example of aging. From a physical ability standpoint, there is very little difference between 20 and 40. My weight has been stuck in a 15 lbs range for the last two decades.

Well, unless you like the outlook of your body deteriorating slowly but surely into an infantile aged decrepit powerless mess and on past that into nothingness, the forecast is fucking grim.

Professional athletes are at the far end of the bell curve, where even a minor reduction in ability washes you out. It is hardly a good example of aging. From a physical ability standpoint, there is very little difference between 20 and 40. My weight has been stuck in a 15 lbs range for the last two decades.
I don't agree. 40 is way fucking older than 20. When I was 20 I didn't want no 40 year old skank. My dick knew the fucking difference. But even if your point is taken, so fucking what? 80 is right down the line.

Well, most 20 year olds are stupid. I'll give you that,
20 year olds complaining that their lives are practically over make me lol.

Speaking from personal experience, the difference between 25 and 35 is very minor in terms of how I look and feel. It's dependent on the person. Some men are disgusting at 35, others still look 25.

The fact that you obviously think still looking 25 is preferable says it all.

I actually have more mass and look better at 35. I get a bit more sore, and it takes about a day longer recovery from working out compared to a decade ago. However, that's because I'm maintaining a largely identical workout.
Like I've said before, the differences are minor. All things being equal, I think I prefer 35 to 25.

Anything above 35, But as long as you don't have any kids, married or don't have a lot responsibilities and you're not tied down or you're a bachelor that's pretty much youth.

I feel 30 years old is the last year of your "youth"
I also feel like 30 is pretty close. Not that it matters. Fuck, we are all headed to the end anyway. What's the difference how old you are? The fact still remains.

Honestly, if your answer is a number that is higher than — or with a year or two of — your current age, then you don't know shit. This is a question that can only be answered in hindsight.

I don't know if I could say exactly when my youth ended but it's not something I really give a shit about anyway. I'm in my early 30's, have no real interest in partying any more and my body is in reasonable condition I suppose. I got carded buying alcohol a few weeks ago so I must not come off as that old I guess.

I got carded buying cigarettes recently. I'm pretty sure the employee was new and was being extra cautious. I don't know why I felt annoyed and said "really???" He kinda said "oh" when he realized he was 23 years off.

Yeah I think in my case I looked nervous or something. It was just that I was buying something goofy though (peach cider.) I also have a beard so I guess it's hard to tell what some of my face looks like. The cashier was one of those scary looking women who tries to look 20 years younger by caking on makeup.

I remember being carded for alcohol on my 42nd birthday, which I thought was kinda cool because your 42nd birthday is the 21st anniversary of your 21st birthday.

I think they are just overly cautious about it. Or maybe some of them take a perverse glee in trying to refuse people who are obviously old enough.
