Walmart cacti
    #19346696 - 12/30/13 03:02 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

I saved three cacti from Walmart today. I say saved because half there selection was dead on the shelf and they all had fake flowers hot glued onto them. Two of them were labeled and the third was just called "graphted cactus". I transplanted and removed flowers but two of them took some major damage to the tips from hot glue.. the big unlabeled one had three fake flowers glued to it.

trichocereus purpureopilosus

Labeled as notocactus schlosseri but it doesnt look like that to me?

This one is unknown labeled Graphted cactus, can anybody tell what it is?

It was about $10 for the three.

The first one may be right. It looks like a Trichocereus of that group of species, at least. Second one looks more like Notocactus uebelmannianus (Parodia werneri these days), but the spine count doesn't seem right. Not P. schlosseri, IMHO. Last one possibly an Echinocereus, doesn't look grafted. A season's growth will clear the doubts for them all.
