Panaeolus olivaceus/fimicola?
    #19343347 - 12/29/13 08:23 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

I found these growing in tight cluster in a well fertilized lawn today.
They were near a shopping center in Lincoln city Oregon.
The pileus was a dingy gray to blackish before they dried out a little.
I was a little surprised to find them so late in the year, I was under the impression Panaeolus were a warmer weather mushroom.
I am printing some now and it all goes well I will post a few micrographs of the spores either later tonight or tomorrow.

Smooth or rough spores?

Are there sulphidia on the gill faces?

Did you take a print? its not that im not convinced they are Panaeolus,.... but Panaeolina,....... however, i better be wrong!
Its not that i dont trust your ID, i think you are right, but i like to throw out weird stuff haha

I think Panaeolus olivaceus fits nicely, the spores should be only slightly roughened.

I would post spore pics first, then try for the sulphidia, i have never been able to find any, its a hard feature to find.
