I've used most of the spawn to inoculate some grainjars. because i didn't have enough jars and i didn't want to let the rest of the spawn go to waste I inoculated a small bag of around 40 to 50 cm's long and around 30 cm diameter I guess. I've ordered the stuff to make the bubbleh as described in another tek but it hasn't arrived yet. I'll try and make a martha's closet and in the mean time use the wet towel or spray. what would be the best thing to do, wet towel or spray? I can do either one.

I'd maybe do the wet towel over it until you see pins, as soon as pins form take it off and just mist with water as much as you can.  You don't want the towel on there once the mushrooms have appeared as it could deprive them of air/light.

thanks man! will definetely try that. one more question, is it necessary to let the mycelium consolidate the substrate for a week after full colonization as you do with the brf cakes?

i was reading with a culture syringe you can add bleach to your substrate for a less chance of contamination?

Don't use bleach, just properly pasteurize whatever substrate you're using and you should be good.  Or wait, are you doing PF cakes I can't remember?  Either way, don't use bleach.

It'll fruit when it's ready, you don't really "let" it do anything.
In other words, yeah it will probably take some time between full colonization and fruiting, but that amount of time isn't really up to you   When it wants to start making mushrooms, it will!

Very much true, it's already mycelium and you don't have to wait for spores to germinate so you're way ahead of that game.

The reason it's yellow is probably malt extract, or whatever the vendor used in making their liquid culture.

Hey man, just wanted to update you on the grow.
It's been going great. I had the towel on the bag for only two or three days, after that I couldn't be bothered with it anymore. The mycelium just wanted to pin so badly, just the way you described it. the mushrooms are piling out of the bag. I've placed it in the bathroom though, because of all the showers the humidity is a lot higher than anywhere else in the house. worked like a charm

Awesome!  Glad it worked out   Good idea using the shower's humidity
