I recently made the switch as well, and it wasn't hard as I thought it would be.

I use an espresso machine at home. I usually do a double shot, mixed with about 8 ounces of whole milk. If I can afford it, I'll get some heavy whipping cream and use anywhere from half a tablespoon to a whole tablespoon.
I don't use sugar whatsoever. Although during the holidays, I'll get some pumpkin spice syrup from starbucks and will use that in my at home lattes.
The coffee I use is World Market brand. I get whatever I'm in the mood for, be it moka java, costa rica, french roast, italian roast, guatemala, etc.
I use world market brand because it tastes dank and they have a coffee rewards program where if you purchase 6 bags of coffee, you get one for free. If I buy it on wednesdays, I get double coffee points, which gets me my free bag faster.

Have you noticed a significant tolerance increase as a result of frequent kratom dosing?

Cream and sugar destroys the taste of coffee. I do like a little bit of milk though.
To truly enjoy coffee you need a burr grinder to have freshly ground beans. I recently switched to using an AeroPress with the inverted brewing method and it makes the best coffee I've ever had.
Don't go for some commercial coffee beans - find a local roastery that roasts fresh beans every day.
The place by me has the Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, I believe it's around $35/lb. I've never tried it. I typically buy stuff in the $8-15/lb range.

The roast absolutely affects caffeine level.

the roast has a minimal effect on caffeine. caffeine content relies more on the beans themselves.
as for drinking, it's either black or blended with grass-fed cow butter, and mct oil. that shit gets me higher than a mofo.

You could always retort with a source to counter mine instead of saying "lol". I'm not in the business of taking the word of a random person on the internet when Wikipedia disagrees with them.

there are other factors that go into the energy high that coffee gives you.
some beans make me feel groggy/foggy and give me a stomach ache.

that study is about farm feed. but they are also prevalent in coffee beans. not high enough levels to warrant an alarm by the american FDA. but high enough to see negative effects.

My brother would say that this is the chemicals the put in to kill the fungus or w/e that is plaguing coffee. Thats exactly how he described it.
Coffee gives me a great feeling in my stomach first thing in the morning, but normally I can barely notice a difference in energy levels. I am on the higer end of the energy spectrum though, never once have I felt like I've needed coffee to stay up. I just drink it cause it tastes good and is everywhere, oftentimes for free.
