Bearded Tooth
    #19342469 - 12/29/13 04:47 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

I am rather new to all of this.  Moved to Louisiana from Ohio, basically all I ever did was Morel hunt.  I came across these.  Is this definitely bearded tooth?  And how do they keep in the fridge?

Thank you!

Oh forgot.  In woods, growing on side of fallen oak tree in southern louisiana

Surely looks like it, yes!

Rare in my neck of the woods though, never found it.

They are Hericium erinaceus.

If you are keeping them for more than a couple days, fry them up and freeze.

I say get to them ASAP. They can start to get funky pretty quick.
