Very true, cant let what others say influence how you live, have to experience everything for you self, because thats the only way you can truly experience anything.

While you vicariously observe the events in a movie?

All we are doing is observing in life man, a movie, a hike, everything is just a observation if you think about it, some you are moving, some you are doing, some you are sitting still but you are still thinking, and experiencing things from the outside world.

Bs. It is what it is, sitting down staring at a screen is not the same as having a hand in the action.

But why? Both you are thinking and alive, both can BE a experience if YOU let it be.

Both are alive, going through different experiences. Hallucinations don't affect physical reality, neither does what one is observing from the sidelines. When the protagonist dies at the end of a movie, the observer walks away

Hallucinations can effect your thoughts! Thats the key,"change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change". Watching a movie can really provoke many new thoughts, new feelings, or just a strong one that you may have not felt in a awhile, correct? anything that CAN do that should be held with some regard in the chance that it might.

Might help to know a little about what youre about to go see beforehand maybe? I know il enjoy it and i havent even seen it yet. Think il go watch pokemon the movie expecting to see a ww2 documentary due to my total lack of foresight and then go make a thread about how much it sucks in the mean time.

They can affect your thoughts but not reality, no matter how one looks at an event it happened a certain way. There's a physical reason behind a plane crash and an individual falling from the plane cannot stop the fall with their thoughts, one who is observing at home is literally disconnected from the situation being a passive observer

That point is true I guess, but I guess you could say that you disconnecting from the situation and becoming a being a passive observer is your own choice, whats to say you could not try your best while watching to empathize with the people who are falling , and then almost feel for them, and that would be a very strong experience. You are talking if YOU are the person falling out of the plane, but thats a different topic, I'm just talking about YOU being the observer in the situation, and how it can still be an experience, and that your own thoughts can make or break it. Thats all, I know you cant cant change falling out of a plane with thoughts, but you can change how you feel about watching it.

Its an experience of its own kind, just different. Shit I'm really splitting hairs here if you look back at the post that started this damn colds making it hard to think straight but the whole subjective/objective conversation is always interesting imo.
