Very ugly purple. Should I be concerned? (pics)

Some cubes I was growing were on their third flushes, and unfortunately, I was not able to return home to care for them for a few days. When I arrived home, I found this.

These are a few of the fruits I picked from this sub, also with a purple coloration. Some of it can be scraped off and some cannot. Are these safe to eat? I'm drying them now.

I've done a bit of searching, but I'd prefer to just get an opinion or two based on photos of what I've got. Thanks in advance.

Is this your first time growing? It looks like spores, their fine to eat IMO.
When the caps open they drop spores, your caps are turned upwards so they've been open for at least 2 days. I've never let mine get that far. Spores dropping on cakes/substrate is supposedly bad for your following flushes, I've never experienced this though.

It's not my first time, but by far my most successful. And yeah, I assumed and was hoping spores would be the culprit, but like you said, I've never had caps that turned like that. Wanted to make sure. They were also a bit more wet than usual. But not soggy or appearing to have rotted necessarily. Just flimsy and unusually wet.

Well Congrats! I'm glad you got some "fruits of your labor" Rot will be slimy and black, trust me you'll know it when you see it, the purple tinge is nice looking, the black....not so much.

Yeah, I'm aware of the trich, and the sub is long gone. My understanding though is that contaminates in the substrate don't transfer to fruit bodies. All of my grows have had trich at some point or another, at least by the last flush. I've eaten from them several times, as have a number of my friends.

One concern is that now that the fruits have dried, what looked to be more of a purple is now more of a black. Is that normal?

I take it from these happenings that it's ideal to begin harvesting once the first mushrooms begin to open, so as to avoid spore droppage?

I know, but as I said, I didn't have the option to pick them earlier, and the sub has been gone since yesterday.
