Looking for tips/tricks/recources on becoming financially responsible and secure

My wife and I are sitting on about $30,000 of debt, 75% of which is student loan debt.
We're both still in school, I've got 3 classes to go, she has about 10, and we're scraping by, living paycheck to paycheck. I have a lot of anxiety at times just thinking about what we would do if our only vehicle were to suddenly give out (it's a 2002 Accord with 235,000 miles). We have no savings.
I need help getting the budget under control and building a small emergency fund before I start worrying about paying down some of the debts.

If you have credit card debts, pay the one with the highest interest rate first.
If you have a line of credit, pay all your cards with it.
Change and 1$ bills go in a jar. They are no longer currency for you. Don't spend them. Always break a bill.
No more credit cards. Cash only.
Don't buy acoffee at coffee shops, make it at home.
Stop going out (it sucks, but its life)
Are you paying for something you rarely use? If so cancel it.
Cut meat from your diet and replace it with nuts, beans and quinoa. Much cheaper. Healthier too
Always buy fresh veggies and make your meals from scratch. The frozen shit is expensive and unhealthy
Walk when you can.
Buy used books for your classes instead of new ones
Buy second hand furniture. Second hand everything pretty much.
Be creative. You'll find other ways to save

I think the first thing you should do is get an EXACT idea of your monthly expenditures.
I can track everything I spend, down to a pack of gum and $1 bottle of water. To start saving money, you need to see where it goes.

Love everything you said here. Only probably is...the going out thing...I could chill at home, or be invited to friend's houses or entertain myself...but my wife has a bitch fit about going out to establishments at least twice a month. I know that our vices are the easiest thing to cut....but i just don't see it happening because the cost of the vice is much better than the emotional cost of hearing her bitch and wine about not getting it....and this folks is why you don't accidentally spawn a child and commit to someone because of a child.
