    #19340100 - 12/29/13 03:07 AM (10 years, 1 month ago)

people should use it more often i dont think they use it often enough what do you think? i'm gonna start using it with steadily increasing frequences in my social interactions until it's a commonly used and accepted word

discuss intelligently

Groovy used to be very popular op, in the time of vinyl records.

Nowadays usage of the word "awesome" seems to have replaced the use-case of groovy which is a shame because because awesome already had a meaning.

Anyway I still say groovy a lot :hippie:

I say "far out" a lot

One of my friends used the phrase "talkin' the jive" to me a couple months ago and it stuck in my head as being particularly interesting and worth using

I hear a lot of people say "cat"

I'm a child of the 80's and still sound like a Valley Girl.

Every New Year I resolve to eliminate "like" from my speech and just give up by lunchtime on New Year's Day.

Other words I orally abuse:
totally
fully
whatever
And certain notable quotes from Pulp Fiction.

A customer at my work used the term "groovy" with me at work today right after reading this thread this morning. It was a pretty far out experience.

When I was in the firth or sixth grade one of my classmates was suspended from school for calling a teacher a "jive turkey" that dude was such a thug when I knew him in school. 10-15 years later I ran into him at a club and he had turned into flaming queen.

The street I live on is mostly inhabited by fairies (trust me, they're gay) and lesbians. And a pedo or two. This doesn't apply to my house, nor the rest of the neighborhood. It's like Little San Fran or something.
