Hey so ive been doing some research on here on agar because ive been having problems with contamination.
Im waiting for a few things to arrive in the mail before i get started but i was wondering if you need to wrap each petri dish with parafilm directly after you pour it or pour all of them then wrap them all. I will be using a SAB.
thank you

More details please. Do you pour and stack them then inoculate then wrap them one at a time?

I find that there is condensation build up after they cool no matter what. I wait for the moisture to escape before I wrap them in Parafilm. If there's moisture in the dish, it will only invite dirty mcnasties if you wrap too soon.

I always was under the impression that it was the temp you poor your agar at. If you're able to pour without protection you should have little to no condensation. This could be old info.

Simply stack all the dishes in a single vertical stack after pouring. I pour in two stacks , place the stacks on top of each other and slip the plastic sleeve back over them, folding it at bottom to make a seal.Within two to three days, all the condensation has been reabsorbed into the agar and it's no longer an issue with pp5's i pour then wait till it gets to room temp before i put the lid on and toss in the pc, i then leave it in the pc for at least 4 hours

Nice. Thank you. Sorry I read ALOT of conflicting stuff and I'm always bouncing from subject to subject. Sometimes things get discombobulated.
